Re: i have pcos
yeah, i think they would probably listen. i think like, they are mostly on my side and they're trying to help me. they just dont really get a lot of how i'm feeling so i think talking about it will probably be beneficial. i'll give it a try and probably come back and say how it went

Re: i have pcos
yeah, that does make sense. i know i should be kinder to myself. it's just so stressful. i don't know, maybe i should try explaining all this to my parents a little. i also know that a lot of the intensity i'm feeling right now about all this is like. Because i'm on my period. so. yeah. i'll probabl...

Re: i have pcos
ahh i'm glad you think so! yeah it sucks. i think it's just like. no one around me really understands and it feels like if i'm not trying everything i can to make it better, then no one is going to take my exhaustion seriously. but i genuinely can't do a lot of them, and i keep missing my floradix p...

Re: i have pcos
hi CaitlinEve! it’s good to hear I’m not alone in all this lol yeah, i don’t know. I guess it’s less about trying to prove the pain of my period than like, wanting to “legitimise” everything else I’m suffering with. Everyone understands and gets pain, so they understand how I’m feeling when I’m in p...

Re: Showerhead
That's great!! i'm glad to hear it So, i'm not an expert, but I know that sperm outside the body or a condom only survives for a few minutes at most. Not only that, but hot water - if that's what you used to clean it - would kill it in seconds. Then, even if it did somehow survive and ended up on th...

hi Caleb! i hope you don't mind me replying, as i'm not a member of staff. personally I really don't think this is a risk. the chances of this happening are very, very low. i absolutely hear your worry and concern, and i understand how hard it can be to *not* worry about something! but i really doub...

Re: i have pcos
thanks Sofi, it DOES suck. But honestly yeah I’m not doing awful. And I’m looking forward to university. i actually will be going in the year I turn 19, so I have some time to do things like a legal gender/name change (thankfully very simple once you’re 18, where i am) and hopefully get a binder. i ...

Re: i have pcos
hi Sofi! yeah, i try my best. it's just hard, and I know that I *could* do more, but... again... fatigue makes it harder honestly i get the impression that she's not going to budge. i guess i could try, but i think it would honestly just stress both of us out, and not lead anywhere. she's very firm ...

Re: i have pcos
hi aarija!! thanks so much for your thoughtful reply :) about the eating habits: - Usually I eat three meals a day with occasional snacks. Honestly, I think most days I wouldn't really have snacks? Some days i *really* want snacks though. - I usually try to go for fruit, like oranges or apples, if i...

i have pcos
so i have pcos. i haven't been like completely officially diagnosed, but i and my doctor agree that it's probably the case - the blood test results he took match up with it, and i have oligomenorrhea (infrequent periods - i had a 114 day cycle not long ago), as well as facial hair. he put me on birt...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Hi CaitlinEve, thank you for your reply! Being Ollie definitely feels right. I feel the most "me" with that name and he/him pronouns. Everyone calling me those just- feels right! I've been called "sir" and "he" by people who don't know me before, even though I don't bin...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Woof, a whole year? Man. Okay, well, hi! I'm back! A while ago now I had a conversation with my mom at a restaurant. We'd organized a time to go and talk about The Whole Gender Thing. I expressed to her that I didn't know how to explain my internal experience of gender to her and my dad, and that it...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
So uhh it didn't really work? Over the summer, I went to a three week summer camp and my parents talked with me beforehand about how I was gonna present myself. It was good because we were like, being honest with each other, but it seems like they think I'm nonbinary? They said it might be good for ...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
I don't know, I'm not sure he'll do it until he has our parents' "permission"?? He's still pretty dependent on them for most things, including direction about what he's allowed to do, so yeah. I think I'm gonna tell my parents soon, my grandparents are staying over right now so I'll wait t...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Hi DesertSonny!! That article's very interesting and I might try some of that out. Yeah, I don't know, I think he's aware of what's happening - like he understands that I'm trans - it's just he tends to defer to our parents on this stuff, which I don't blame him for. I don't really think he'll take ...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Yeah, I can say for certain it won't put me in danger. And I think you're right that I should frame it as a thing that's happening regardless. He's 12, going on 13, but he's a lot more... childish?? than I was at that age (not quite the right word, but yknow. I think it's just because he has an olde...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Hmmm, yeah, that might be a good idea. I would like to have my parents' approval, but we'll see where it goes. Yeah, I think I'll tell them that, hopefully it'll open up more of a conversation about What I Want To Do Next rather than Why Do I Want To Do This. I think if nothing changes, I might end ...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
I think the second one might be about right to use. Not sure if they'd listen to it, though I don't really think being harsh would help much, I'm just kind of angry. I do live with my uncle and my aunt, as well as my immediate family, and I think if I told them they'd support me. But if I had a situ...

Re: Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Hi Sam!! Yeah, I guess that's true. But often our chats about this stuff end up with them asking me *why* I'm trans, and me trying to explain why, even though I can't. I feel like I've been caving too easily to them, because I do tend to try and avoid conflict, so I feel like if I tell them, "N...

Trying to convince my parents I'm trans
Hi there!!! So: It's been a little over two years since I first came out as a trans guy to my parents. I am, to be perfectly honest, pissed that they aren't accepting it already. My mother's sibling (idk what a gender neutral version of aunt/uncle), and their husband, are very queer and very support...

Re: feeling weird around gender??
I honestly can't really imagine what their reactions would be aha. I think maybe I'll just have to talk to them and see how it goes?
I don't think I'm quite ready yet though, not sure when I will be, but I'll wait a while and see what happens
Thank you for your help!!!
