Circumcision debate questions
Okay, so I don't plan on having kids anytime soon but one day I'd like them, so this is by no means super urgent but I am curious. If I have a son, I do not think I would want to have him circumcised as a baby. While it usually is pretty safe, there is still risk and there actually isn't proven medi...

Re: Need help thinking about options
Thank you for your quick response and kind words. In regards to my partner, I've thought about talking to him for a while before I was even considering this possibility. It has just never came up but would like to know if he would be supportive. I think that's important to me. What do you suggest to...

Need help thinking about options
Okay, so just to be clear, I am fully aware that your website and admins do not allow questions like 'how to know if you're pregnant' and stuff relating to pregnancy scares. This is NOT one of those questions, but it is related to the issue of unplanned pregnancy. It is my sincerest hope that I am h...

Re: Having trouble with past trauma and discussing it
I do not feel like I need or expect him to do anything. What I want is to just have out in the open because it feels like I'm keeping a secret from him which I do not feel good about. I just know this can be hard for someone to hear when it's someone they care about. Thank you for the support

Re: Question about wording of fee policy
Okay, because my parents do pay some income tax but they do not have a formal job where wages are given (it's probably from social security, which dad has or investments, but I don't know exactly what). But just because of my income doesn't mean I have a ton of money. I would have to pay out of pock...

Having trouble with past trauma and discussing it
I am an American female college student in her early 20's, and a year and 4 months ago (New Year's Eve), I experienced a sexual assault. Physically nothing was or is wrong, but emotionally/psychologically it has been very difficult. When it first happened, the only two people I told were a family fr...

Question about wording of fee policy
I am a 22 year old female who is sexually active. Being someone who wants to be responsible about this, I used the internet to find the address and contact info of my local family planning clinic. I have not needed to use them yet, but I know where to go and what to do if need be. They have a websit...

Re: Dealing with family conflict and sexual shame
I would like to clear the air as well as set boundaries, but I am not sure if my dad is willing to respect that because he's kind of stubborn. My mom tries not to get involved. I'd rather not talk about this with her because she either sides with him or misunderstands and tells him in the wrong way ...

Re: Dealing with family conflict and sexual shame
I am not at this time seeing a counselor. I have considered trying to see people at the counseling center on my college campus. I can look into it. With the 'buffer' thing I am doing my best. I attend a university about 3 hours away from my parents and haven't talked with dad much since the incident...

Re: Dealing with family conflict and sexual shame
I should also note that the dynamic is different with my 19 year old sister Lindsey (name changed again for privacy). She is also what you would call 'sexually active' (she has engaged in sexual activity, including sexual intercourse, with two people I know of, the first being when she was either 14...

Dealing with family conflict and sexual shame
I am a 22 y/o female college student who lives at school for most of the year, but on breaks and during the summer I stay with my parents. For all intents and purposes I am still financially dependent on my parents. My dad is the primary 'breadwinner' as my mom is unable to work due to medical probl...

Birth control pills and period issues? Please help
I am a 22 year old female. I've been taking combination birth control pills since I was 17. I initially started taking them because of menstrual issues. I would go months at a time without a period and when I had one it would last up to 10 days, be very heavy, unbearable (and I mean unbearable) cram...

Question about Gardasil
I am a 22 year old female who has not yet had sexual intercourse, but likely to within the next year. A few years ago (I was about 17) I received Gardasil, as both of my parents thought it was a good idea for my younger sister and I to get because it greatly reduces the risk of cancer, which we all ...

Re: Is there any way to make myself less tight?
So sorry that this may be tmi or kinda graphic but it's the only way I can articulate what is going on. Anyways, I can definitely do the thing with the gloves, because I do like the feeling of things inside me. Tbh we are kinda slow and I want faster, but I can stay at this rate if you think it'll h...

Is there any way to make myself less tight?
Okay, so I am a 21 year old heterosexual female in a monogamous long term relationship with a great guy. We are sexually active in many senses but haven't had 'actual sex' (vaginal intercourse). Both he and I have expressed desire to do so but so far just haven't gotten around to it (main issue is w...

Re: What's going to happen after we graduate??
I'm hoping to have a conversation soon. My biggest barrier is I feel like it is selfish of me to want him to apply out of state with me. Yes, it obviously could benefit him, but I am gonna be honest, my primary motivation is that it doesn't make sense professionally for me to only consider in Ohio, ...

Re: How to ask gynecologist for STI tests and how much they cost?
I will definitely remember to mention it at my next appointment. I am not too worried right now, but I will likely not be seeing my gynecologist until May/June (it is November as I write this) unless I develop an issue. As for finding out what is covered, I have had significant issues understanding ...

Thank you Mo and Heather! This is very helpful. I will definitely do more research on these two methods and talk with my gyno next time I see her. Any ideas as to good questions to ask?

How to ask gynecologist for STI tests and how much they cost?
I'm not extremely worried right now, but I see my gynecologist in May (it is november as I write this) and was curious what to do to ask for STI testing. I know they typically have to be asked for specifically, and know very little about this. Also, how much do they cost (I have caresource, a plan t...
