Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Thanks Sofi- in order not to drip feed information, I have thyroid cancer, so had to have it taken out, so am now on lifelong medication. I know thyroid stuff can mess up periods too which doesn’t help my anxiety!

Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Thanks Sam, once this cancer stuff blows over I will look into it. I once had a 36 day cycle shortly after coming off the implant, so I know it was a fluke as I was getting back into a regular cycle, and the longest cycle I’ve had that was normal was 33. When trying to calculate a late period, do I ...

Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Yes, and since covid I’ve become more reflective, especially since I was on my own a lot wfh, and since my cancer diagnosis I’ve become a lot more refective too. I should point out, it’s not a cancer I’m likely to die from, but I have thought a lot about mortality and my past. Also, there’s a lot mo...

Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Yeah it does, I know how to use the tools but sometimes the anxiety becomes too big to overcome, especially now when it comes to body checking after having a cancer diagnosis. I mean, if you read my previous posts on here, it contains details of the traumas, but you might not think they’re traumatic...

Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Hi Sam, So it is actually something me and her agreed on, I have the tools, it’s up to me now to use them. Inbetween medical appts and covid, I haven’t really had much chance to see her, and when I have, the cancer stuff has taken priority. My first sexual health related trauma was when I was 18/19....

Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Oh and just to be clear, I’m not looking for pregnancy scare advice, would just like to write how I’m feeling down somewhere.
I have had counselling since 2014 but it now doesn’t serve me in the way it used to, I am ‘overcounselled’.

Re: Implantation bleeding articles
Thanks Sofi!
Due to unfortunately needing treatment for cancer, my previous trauma around pregnancy related anxiety has come back, I’ve been triggered by recent hospital treatments/stays. I haven’t got anyone to talk to about this, so I’m just letting it out here.

Implantation bleeding articles
Hi there!
Please can you point me in the direction of your resources/articles about implantation bleeding?
Also, you may not answer this question which is fine, but is 18 days after a risk too long for bleeding to be implantation bleeding?

Re: Refusing pregnancy test?
Thanks for that Sam I did refuse a pregnancy test for a colonoscopy and it wasn’t a big deal, I know an operation is more serious but hopefully it’ll be straightforward to refuse again.

Refusing pregnancy test?
Hi, So if you read through my posting history during my time here you’ll see I have a history of health and pregnancy anxiety. Out of all the years I’ve had health anxiety, I’ve never had cause to actually worry…until now…I have a thyroid lump that needs removing under general anaesthetic :( Having ...

Re: Does this count as spotting?
Thanks Sofi, I have been trying the past few days to think rationally 🙂 Still no period ☹️ But no more weird discharge either. I’ve read your period article but I just want to check something, My longest cycle since coming off the implant was last December at 36 days. Does this mean I need to wait u...

Re: Does this count as spotting?
Hi Valerie, Thanks for understanding and not judging! I have been in counselling since 2014, recently it’s been on and off, I’ve been in therapy so long that it’s almost not serving me anymore if that makes sense? I think my next step is anxiety medication. No nothing bad happened in my smear apart ...

Re: Does this count as spotting?
Thanks Valerie! I have health anxiety anyway but (and I know I shouldn’t have done it) I googled discharge and everywhere says a beige/slightly yellow discharge isn’t normal, but I’ve always had it so now I’m worrying ☹️ And slightly worried about the brownish tint, even though it was so light it wa...

Is it even worth putting on my period tracker that it was spotting or should I not bother? Not had any today, just normal discharge.

Re: Does this count as spotting?
Thanks Sam W!
So just to be clear, even if it happens today, but not tomorrow, but then my period starts the day after tomorrow, that still sounds within normal range and not a cause for concern? And the fact it doesn’t happen consistently every cycle?

Does this count as spotting?
Hi! Just wondering If you can help. I’ve read your article on discharge, but need a little extra info. Came off the implant last august, and probably about 4 times since, a day or two before my period, I get an ever so slight brown discharge, it’s more a dark yellow but with a tiny bit of brown. I g...

Is my hymen normal?
Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve been here again! Good to be back :D I’ve googled and googled but can’t find an answer to my question :( So my health anxiety has been really bad recently, and as part of my worries I’ve been obsessively checking my vulva region. I’ve noticed some things that I’m not ...

Re: It’s time to come off birth control
Thanks horriblegoose! I’m hoping a bit of weight will also come off :( I have a phone appt on Friday with a Dr, what do I say if they try and persuade me to keep it in longer? I’ve only had it in 9 months and I do feel bad for wasting NHS money getting it out already :( but I’ve had two others...

Re: It’s time to come off birth control
We’ve actually already had that kind of discussion. I’d like to bring the conversation back to birth control if that’s okay, I would be interested to hear peoples real life experiences of coming off hormonal birth control, particularly the implant if anyone has a story to share?

Re: It’s time to come off birth control
Omg I totally forgot to mention I am actually vaccinated  Thanks for those! I’ve had a read through, I’m open to anything except penetrative sex, we sometimes just do oral, or I think it’s called tribadism? Dry humping without clothes lol and I can normally get off on just that. I use toys, I m...

Re: It’s time to come off birth control
i had a read of the articles but the thought of them makes me feel weird  yeah definitely, because I’m so anxious he doesn’t enjoy sex either, so it will be better for both of us to just stick to non-penetrative activities I think. Do you have any articles on making a sex life based around thos...

Re: It’s time to come off birth control
Hi Alice! Thanks for getting back to me :) I’ve always found sex painful, due to upbringing I still have negative feelings regarding sex (eg super religious fanatical beliefs being forced on me), so I know it’s likely a tension thing, but I remember being so disappointed the first time that it wasn’...
