Re: Skipping Period on Multiphasic Birth Control
Hi, Yes tampons will work as a last resort, I just don't like how frequently they need to be changed, and since I'm traveling with a group of guy friends it will be a little embarrassing trying to pack out baggies of used tampons or find the privacy needed to change them when we are away from the ca...

Re: Skipping Period on Multiphasic Birth Control
Hi, thanks for the reply! I do plan to talk to my doctor about this (and definitely won't be making any changes until I do), but I'm not going to be able to get in to see her until next month, so I just wanted to get a sense of what some of my options are so I can go to the appointment prepared with...

Skipping Period on Multiphasic Birth Control
Hi! So I have a camping vacation planned for early November and counting ahead, turns out I'm going to be on my period that week. Since I have some time, I'm trying to figure out a way to reschedule my period and find out what my options are. I'm currently on a combination multiphasic birth control ...

Birth control effectiveness and the "perfect user"
Hi there! I have a question about birth control effectiveness - specifically the wording of what constitutes a perfect user. I take the combined birth control pill. I take the pill every day and have never missed one (never been 24+ hours late), however, since I'm not currently sexually active, I ha...

Re: Melatonin and BCP
I asked a pharmacist at my pharmacy about it and she said she couldn't find any interactions between the two, so it's probably fine, but I think I'll stop using it anyway just to be safe. Thanks so much for the advice and for sending the link to the article, it was really helpful!

Re: Melatonin and BCP
Thanks! I guess I'll have to call my doctor then since I'm out of town. Would you mind linking me to that list? Its frustrating because looking up the list of drug interactions with my prescription, the list is literally 500 medications long. Its not always easy or convenient to remember to call my ...

Melatonin and BCP
Hi! I've been taking Aranelle BCP for about 6 months now. I've been house-sitting for someone for the last few weeks and have been having difficulty sleeping just from being in a different place, so I've been taking melatonin to help with that since I've used it in the past and it worked well for me...

Re: Pill storage question
My boyfriend and I always use dual contraception, but I just wanted to make sure we were getting the full effectiveness of both methods! Thanks so much for your help, Heather!

Pill storage question
Hello! I have a question about storing pills. The packet of my tri-phasic pills says to store between 68 and 77 degrees, but that seems like a really narrow window. The reason I'm asking is that a couple weeks ago (may 8) I went over to a friend's house and may have left my pills in the car, parked ...

Changing my pill schedule
Hi, I need to change my pill schedule because I am going overseas for a week at the end of this month and the time that I had been taking my pill (10:00 pm) will be in the middle of the night there. I just started a new pack yesterday, and took the pill at 3:00 pm instead of 10:00 pm, and plan to ta...

Re: Weird symptoms/side effects
We do have a clinic on campus, but I have been there before and was really not happy with the quality of care I received there. You're right though, I probably should get in to see a doctor. I'll try and make an appointment with my GP for this week. I do feel a little better now that I've been reass...

Re: Weird symptoms/side effects
I have not yet been to see a doctor. I decided to try my health care provider's online resource first since my symptoms have not been severe in any way (I'm in my final weeks of college so it's not been convenient for me to get in to see my GP), which advised me to try a 14 day course of Prilosec. S...

Weird symptoms/side effects
I have been taking Aranelle birth control pills for about 4 months (since January). I have been using them as directed, taking them within the same hour or two every day, and have not had a single missed or late pill. I'm not taking any other prescription meds. I have not had any side effects at all...
