Re: Sunlight issue?

Oh sorry - like the little sleeve that you keep the pills in. Mine happens to be dark blue. :)

Sunlight issue?

Hi there - I went to breakfast this morning and I left my pill pack (in it's little blue holder) on the nightstand. There was some sunlight from the window on the pack for maybe about 2 hours. Is this an issue?

I'm on my last pack before Nexplanon and want to make sure everything is all good. Thanks!

Re: So frustrated. Should I use backup?

Thanks. That's what I thought. I'm super nervous about getting the Nexplanon, but that efficacy rate sounds fabulous. I hope I'm not one of the girls that has "forever" periods on it.

So frustrated. Should I use backup?

So, I'm really frustrated. I'm still continuing to spot on my last two active pills of my pack on Ortho Tri Cyclen. Been on this pill forever and I'm finally so sick of it because of the spotting. Do I need to use backup if I have consistent breakthrough bleeding every month? My mom mentioned my pil...

I think I answered my own question. Plan B's website FAQs say to continue BC as normal. :) Same with PP.

Plan B making pill less effective?

I read somewhere that taking Plan B while on birth control could potentially cause a drop of hormones after the Plan B has gone through your system which could cause breakthrough ovulation even when continuing with the pills. Is this true? Logically it doesn't make sense - but I wanted to ask the ex...

Thank you for the thorough answer.

Yes, I agree with you. I know it's annoying and difficult for y'all. I feel horrible having this anxiety around me. I have an appt for the implant in a few weeks! :)

Help please! Extra pills taken!

Hi all - will taking two extra pills in the same week cause me to ovulate due to extra estrogen? I felt like a pill got stuck in my throat one day and took an extra pill. The next day I had stomach upsets and took an extra pill that day as well. A total of 9 pills in the first week. These are from a...

Re: 4th pill in pack 3 hours later?

Cool. Understood - thanks! Logically, the kind people who make the leaflet for OTC would want me to get pregnant. I read the darn thing 10 times now. The only thing it mentions is starting a pill pack a day late which is dangerous or obvious reasons. It makes sense to follow instructions for medicat...

Oops - forgot to add where I got that info (Dr. Jackson, Bedsider.org) I hope this isn't against the rules to post. If it is, sorry. "First, the short answer: If you miss a pill, you should take the pill you missed as soon as you can. If you take the pill less than 24 hours after you were suppo...

Re: 4th pill in pack 3 hours later?

Last question - promise! If you take a pill less than 12 hours late does that still put you at perfect use (or as close as you can get, I know "perfect use" is calculated closely in a clinic), or does that knock you down to the 91% typical use?

4th pill in pack 3 hours later?

Hi, I know that the first week of the pack is the most dangerous time to miss pills. I fell asleep later than usual and took my pill about 2.5-3 hours later than I normally do (9pm is my pill time). Am I still all the way protected? I'm on a combo pill that is not low dose. My leaflet says if a pill...

It doesn't bother me for now, so I'll keep an eye out for next cycle.

Ugh, totally. Thank you again (and always) for your time. I've consulted this site so many times since I've been sexually active and I am so so so grateful.

Bottom line is that breakthrough bleeding does not mean it's less effective, right?

I definitely understand that.

Could you provide any info on why sources say to switch pills after breakthrough bleeding and that the pill isn't "strong" enough?

Re: Second month with breakthrough bleeding. Help!

Yep. All up to date (and so is my partner!) Thanks, that's what I thought. I got nervous because I did a quick google and it returned with "your pill might not be strong enough." What's up with that? Is it because the estrogen dose or progestin dose may not be enough to stop breakthrough b...

Second month with breakthrough bleeding. Help!

This is my second month in a row with breakthrough bleeding before my placebo week. It's showing up as brown discharge. I haven't missed any pills and only took one 3 hours late in the second week - it's a combined pill, and I know that's OK. Does breakthrough bleeding mean the pill isn't as effecti...

Re: Acid Reflux?

For all future people who look at this, I talked to a pharmacist and he said as long as you don't expel it and keep it down, it will continue to get absorbed (and that many women experience acid reflux and take the pill with no issues).

Hi! I'm so sorry to be a pest I just need to know if I need to get another pill pack to take the extra pill. Will acid reflux affect anything? I can't get in contact with my doctor. I've made an appointment to talk to my obgyn about the implant since taking the pill seems to bring me lots of anxiety...
