Pregnancy from sex before Nexplanon removal?
Hi -- I had my first Nexplanon removed yesterday and it cannot be reinserted until Monday (insurance issues). I had sex a couple of days prior to the removal and my doctor said nothing about having had to abstain etc. although there was going to be a gap in protection. I didn't think to ask about se...
Re: Nexplanon
Do eyedrops of any kind affect it? Or nasal sprays? I ask as they also go into your bloodstream right?
Nexplanon
I'vehad it in for a few months now. Really like it so far. One question: is it affected by vomiting or diarrhea at all? Doesn't seem like it will be but wanted to check.

Supplements that affect birth control?
Are there supplements that affect birth control apart from St. John's Wort? Specifically turmeric and the implant?

Antibiotics and Nexplanon?
Is the implant affected by antibiotics? I had minor surgery last Friday and was given an IV of Mefoxin. It was just the one dose. This was exactly 10 days after I had the implant put in.

Re: Implant question
Heather, thanks I have been mia for a bit so didn't see this. Btw, I noticed that your article mentions that the implant is effective after two weeks. In a lot of other places I have seen that it is effective after one week if not inserted during your period. Could you explain? Thanks in advance.

Re: Implant question
I did know about the irregular bleeding but was not sure how soon this may start to happen or how it might affect my "regular" cycke. I am just trying to figure out what to prepare for I guess.
Thanks for the info!

Implant question
I got the nexplanon implant two days ago. Prior to that I hadn't been on birth control since the beginning of January. I was on pills. If I had continued on the pill I would have had a bleed next week. As it is I am not sure when I might have gotten my next period even without the nexplanon. However...

Re: Did I get this right?
Okay.... I will admit i am confused then. How is it I was safe during my placebo week given that I have gone off the pill altogether after that week?

Did I get this right?
Was trying to explain to a friend that protection during entire placebo week is dependent on whether you took the previous three weeks' active pills correctly. Not on whether you take the next pack. I am correct right? This is what I understand from your info. I will send her your link too but I wan...

Possible switch to progestin only pill
Hi: I posted last week about going off my pills after my current pack. I am in my placebo week (and got my withdrawal bleed hallelujah - I was worried). I am not currently using any other birth control as i understand i am still protected this week but will start doing so Sunday when I would normall...

Re: Going off pill question re last safe date
Thanks. I just always wondered how dangerous one missed pill was...especially in the middle of the pack. Not that missing any is a good idea but just looking to see how big a deal this is. As you say it's a moot point.

Re: Going off pill question re last safe date
Thank you! You've helped a lot. I didn't know what the sperm living in you for a few days meant. One other question. I debated asking but might as well. I was out of town last weekend and after a night out with friends, on 12/19 don't explicitly remember taking my active pill. It's gone from the pac...

Going off pill question re last safe date
After having been on the pill for many years I will be going off it shortly. I have been on a 28 day combined pill (azurette). I am on my last active pill week. I start my placebo pills Sunday, December 27. I usually take them at night. I plan to simpy not take my next pack. I had sex (without other...
