Being Direct about Casual Sex
Is it ok to ask someone you know if they're turned on over facebook messenger? This person flirted with me in real life, so I did that a few weeks later over fb messenger. Now I'm scared I harassed them.

The term 'queer'
So, I love this word for my sexuality and gender and everything, it's just so non-specific. However, I'm being careful not to use it for all LGBTQIA people as a lot of people over here (the UK) seem to have issues with it - saying it was a slur and not fully reclaimed. Talking to older people, feel ...

Re: Still feel like it's my fault
I worry that the things I love about myself, such as compassion and generosity, are things that will put people off me, because they're not really things about me, they're things I can offer others. It could just be that I met all my exes while I was in abuse with my family, and missed the red flags...

Re: Still feel like it's my fault
Sorry to keep posting but it's helping me. It doesn't help that I feel pathetic/non-feminist for wanting a relationship. My dad called me desperate (then broke contact) for getting upset when being messed around with by someone playing games with me. I feel so needy, and I hate that. All three of my...

Re: Still feel like it's my fault
I think I'm just so scared that, although I love myself, because my expectations of others are low (I don't like to pressure and I'm scared of being demanding), that even the nicest person will think they don't need to put any effort into a relationship with me. Could that happen?

Still feel like it's my fault
Hey, So all my close relationships, including family (with the exception of a couple of friendships) have been severely emotionally abusive. I am now out of contact with all my abusers. However, something my abusive mother said just haunts me, she said 'nobody will love you because you think everyon...

Re: Do people really forget the pain of pregnancy and birthing?
Thank you Sam! Amazing reply! *heart eyes* That makes me feel better. It does seem like a lot of people do remember it, and swap stories a lot. Sometimes culture makes it seem like our bodies are out to trap into being baby machines!

Do people really forget the pain of pregnancy and birthing?
Someone on my facebook just said if this was her first pregnancy it would be her last. A man replied 'no you wouldn't, the human brain has a switch that forgets the pain of childbirth to ensure the survival of the species' like we have some trick built it! Is there any truth in this at all? I'm not ...

Re: Pap smear
It does, thank you.
At least when I go for a new STI check up, I'll know what to expect now as well. It was probably just because I wasn't used to it. It will get easier over the years.

Re: Pap smear
Thank you so much! That's so reassuring about the age for paps being moved later and later. And yep, it was the chlamydia / gonorrhea test. Thank goodness paps aren't like that! So, a pap can pick up cancer if a person has it, even if the HPV virus is long gone? The HPV infection disappearing is so ...

Re: Pap smear
Hey! Great to see you too. It was part of my STI check, and they warned me it would feel even weirder than the first time they touched my cervix where it was just a little brush against it. Maybe it just felt like it was going to go in, and freaked me out. I'm so squeamish, I'm sorry! Yeah, say some...

Re: Pap smear
Also; what if someone does leave it too late and the smear shows a false negative? How will the person know if they do have cancer?

Pap smear
Hello, Last time I went for a pap smear and STI check they put something actually inside my cervix. I don't mind things touching the outside, but inside is a bit much for me. Now I need another pap smear but I'm scared they will do it again. My questions are: do they have to put the swab inside my c...
