Re: Bleeding during sex

If neither of you have ever had any sexual contact with anyone else, then that greatly reduces the chances of either of you having an STI, but it doesn't mean the chance is zero, unfortunately. Some STIs can be spread through non-sexual contact, so it's a good idea to get in the habit of getting reg...

Re: Bleeding during sex

Okay. I would still suggest getting current with your sexual healthcare if you aren't, but definitely try adding lube in the future as well: even lubricated condoms don't usually have enough on them, and the natural lubrication that the vagina produces tends not to be enough when condoms are used ei...

Bleeding during sex

Hi littleredflower, In your other post you mentioned bleeding during sex, which can happen for a couple of different reasons. One possibility is that there wasn't enough lubrication, and that's easily remedied by using some water-based lube. It could also be the start of your period, if you're due f...

Re: Plan b questions

You'll want to test on Saturday the 18th, or any time after that. When we say wait at least 14 days, that means you can test on day 14, which would be Saturday the 18th in this case.

Re: Meaningless jealousy?

Jealousy is something that a lot of people experience, and it can be hard to shake even when you know it isn't really rational. At the same time, it can actually be useful: sometimes insecurity in ourselves or our relationships can manifest as jealousy, and digging into what seems like a jealous fee...

Yes, you want to wait until it's been at least 14 days. Re: Waiting for sex in a relationship

There aren't really any hard and fast rules with this kind of thing: it depends so much on the people involved. For some people, having sex on the first date is what they want and are comfortable with, other people prefer to wait weeks or months or even years. It can change from relationship to rela...

Re: How long does it take for BC to get out of your system?

For someone who's been using the pill, it's possible for pregnancy to happen pretty much right away after stopping use, because the body just goes back to its usual cycle when you're not using the pill anymore. That's not necessarily going to happen for every single person, because people's bodies v...

Porn - or fantasy more generally - can be an indication of your patterns of attraction, but not everyone's fantasies line up neatly with their attractions in real life. Some people enjoy porn or fantasising about things they wouldn't be interested in at all in reality, whereas for other people their...

Re: Plan b questions

Honestly, there's really no one 'normal' way of having a relationship: what matters is that you're doing what you feel comfortable with and what you enjoy. So it sounds like for now maybe it's a good idea to talk to your boyfriend about taking a break from any kind of sex?

It can take a bit of time after a breakup for the intensity of those feelings and memories to subside, and if you're someone who overthink things then that can make it more difficult for sure. At this point, like I said, the best thing you can do is probably to try and distract yourself for a bit of...

Some people on the pill do get their withdrawal bleed on the first day of the placebo pills, but for most people it takes a couple of days at least for the level of hormones to drop enough to trigger a withdrawal bleed. It varies from person to person, though, and there's no way to know ahead of tim...

Welcome to Scarleteen. :) Unfortunately, it's difficult to organise a date with someone without being able to talk to them about it directly at all, but maybe there are some ways to phrase it that won't feel as intimidating for you? For instance, rather than saying "Would you like to go out on ...

Bloating and stomach upset can be due to a period about to arrive, even if it's not something you've personally experienced before. If it persists though it wouldn't hurt to check in with a doctor.

Re: I feel like it is unreasonable for me to be dysphoric about a lack thereof a period?

For what it's worth, I don't think it's unreasonable (and feelings don't have to be reasonable or logical to be legitimate, either!). On top of that, how someone else feels about their periods isn't any indication of how you should feel about not having periods. Can I ask why you feel weird that thi...
