Re: 4th pill in pack 3 hours later?

Because the effectiveness of the pill isn't calculated by day or even by month, but by year, it's not really possible to answer that question. What we can say, though, is that taking one pill a few hours later than usual isn't going to impact the effectiveness much, if at all. To boot, you're backin...

Re: Herpes through clothing?

As it says in that article I linked you to, herpes is not simply spread through body fluids: you need skin-to-skin contact, and that didn't happen.

Re: 4th pill in pack 3 hours later?

Taking a pill 3 hours later than usual isn't a missed pill. When you're on any combination pill, it isn't even late: a pill isn't considered late until it's been at least 12 hours past the time you would usually take it. So you're all good. (Also - and other staff/vols here have talked about this be...

Re: Herpes through clothing?

Herpes is transmitted through skin-to-skin contact: you were wearing clothes, so that's not something that could have happened here. The piece you read said without "any possible fluid sharing because of clothing " which means that if people are wearing clothes, fluid sharing isn't possibl...

So there you go: no risk. As for why that is, this piece explains what is necessary for pregnancy to happen, and how your situation doesn't fit those requirements:

What do the articles that you've read here say about the risk of pregnancy from manual sex (fingering)?

If you need a refresher on what activities pose a risk of pregnancy, you can find that here: Can I Get Pregnant, or Get or Pass On an STI From That? Per the bleeding, we can't know the reason behind it. As Heather mentioned in your other thread though, it sounds like your cycle might be going throug...

Re: Help with mid cycle bleeding.

Okay. There are a couple of STIs that can cause irregular bleeding or spotting, so it's always important to make sure that infection isn't the problem. Getting a testing kit is a great way to do that, but if you've never had a sexual health checkup, it would still be a good idea to get one done, inc...

Not at all: condoms are designed specifically so that that doesn't happen. They work because they're intended to keep all semen inside the condom, and unless they break or come off, that's what they do.

You would be fully protected when you insert your second ring, you don't need to wait a week into that second ring for full protection.

I've done a bit of poking around, and hopefully Redskies and Heather will have more suggestions, but from what I've been able to find so far it looks like anyone 14 and older in Portugal is able to consent to healthcare on their own: you don't need your parents' permission to seek out healthcare, in...

Re: Messed up my cycle?

Plan B can throw your body for a bit of a loop, and those effects can last a while, so it's entirely possible that's what's going on. Starting your new pack of pills a day earlier than usual isn't likely to have much of an impact, but it could be part of the problem. If you're concerned, you can alw...

Re: So angry about sexual situation

If things in general are pretty stressful for both of you right now, I'd say that's one more reason to take a break from intercourse: it's become stressful, and there's no reason to add to your stress levels when you don't have to, you know? You say you communicate well with each other. Can I ask, i...

Re: Conflicting info about vomitting and effectiveness

I'm so sorry the pharmacist freaked you out: that's pretty poor service, in my opinion. A few hours in the timing of taking Plan B won't likely make much of a difference, if any, especially because it wasn't really necessary. Regardless, you've taken it now, so there's really nothing else you can do.

I think you could just start by saying some of what you've said here: you're passionate about going to school out of state, you care about him and want to stay together while pursuing your career, and you'd like to try and find a way to make that work for both of you. One thing it might help to thin...

When you miss one pill, your protection doesn't immediately drop to zero. Missing a pill makes it more likely that you will ovulate, but it doesn't guarantee that you will: that's why, with typical use (which takes into account things like missing a pill here and there or taking one late every so of...
