Re: Copper IUD and Late/Missed Period?

Hi mirrormask, Yes, assuming you took both tests according to the directions, you can trust the results. And, beyond that, you've been using three methods of birth control, so your chances of pregnancy were incredibly, incredibly small to begin with. Too, you may be experiencing cycle irregularity b...

Re: Is this possible?

Hi hypochondriac,

No, that scenario does not pose a risk of HIV transmission.

Have you made any progress in finding a mental healthcare professional to talk with?

Re: I might have romantic feelings for my best friend

Hi Maddybob, I don't think it's confusing or pathetic to wonder about this at all. You have some feelings for this person that you're trying to sort out, plus a hunch that they might have feelings for you. That can make for quite a confusing headspace. One thing that you might find helpful is to spe...

Re: My partner wants to finger me

This is one of those things where your best bet is just to experiment (either by yourself or with your partner) about what sensations feel good, since everybody's body is a little bit different. Too, as Heather mentioned, we have some info on the main site about anal sex (and out how to be safe in g...

Re: The Pill and Spotting?

Like Karyn said, having a withdrawl bleed mid-cycle does not mean the pill is not working, it just means your body is still adjusting to being on the pill. If you had diarrhea an hour or two after taking your pill that day, then it may have compromised the effectiveness. But, if you had it more than...

Re: Can't remember taking my pill!

Hi busylizzie,

If the pill that was meant to be taken today was not in the packet, then it's likely that you took it this morning. If you're planning on being sexually active soon and you're still anxious, you can always back up with condoms to help put that anxiety a bay.

Re: Should I be upset over rape?

Okay, so when you look for people to message, are you filtering your results to those profiles that say they're looking for something a little more serious? Too, when you seek out partners IRL, do you find it's mostly in situations where there's alcohol involved and or the vibe is very much one tune...

Re: Should I be upset over rape?

Ah, I follow. So, in those exchanges, are you both expressing what you're looking for from the relationship up front, or do you find that one (or both) of you seems to pretend to want what the other person does, only for what they really want to come out later? Also, I wanted to jump back to you men...

Re: Should I be upset over rape?

Thanks wistfully (on the subject of hugs, do you feel that you could ask for a slightly longer one from a friend and have them agree to it)?

When you're on these dating sites, are you also looking at profiles and messaging people, or do you mostly wait until people message you?

With a penis that's on the smaller side, there aren't really any disadvantages from a physical standpoint. It's just part of normal human variation

Too, I wouldn't discount social factors, as those often play a large role in how people relate to their bodies and what they view as normal or desirable.

Re: Would a longer penis aid in reproduction?

Hi Mellonhead, Nope, there is no link between penis size and reproductive capacity that we know of. The cultural focus on penis size is more a social phenomenon, as having a large penis is associated with being more manly, and being a certain type of manly is valued in many places. There's also a mi...

Re: Should I be upset over rape?

It's okay to have negative feelings about what happened, and those negative feelings come more from something bad having been done to you then they do from you overthinking things. It's not an overreaction by any means. I would definitely consider talking to those folks. You've done a solid job of l...

When you say sexuality, do you mean something closer to sexual orientation? Or do you mean just "engaging in behavior that is sexual"?

Re: pregnancy question

Hi markopollo,

Ooof, pregnancy and panic attacks sounds like a tough combo to deal with. The best person to direct those questions to would be your healthcare provider. Do you have someone who you've been seeing? And are you seeing someone (like a therapist) for help managing the panic attacks?

Re: Itching around vagina

Hi rosemary, There isn't really a way for us to tell you what the red bumps are, as we cannot diagnose people via the internet. So, if you're concerned, I would check in with a healthcare provider. It's possible that these are just ingrown hairs, but you'll want to check with someone who can look at...

Re: Should I be upset over rape?

You're already being pretty proactive, which is awesome. So, it may simply be a matter of being patient and persevering (as difficult as that is sometimes). The other thing that can help is to get involved with clubs or groups that focus on a shared interest (Anime, hiking, cooking, etc). That way, ...

Re: Should I be upset over rape?

Hi wistfully, That's some awesome self-care you've been doing, and I'm glad you're friends are supportive of you. It can suck when it feels like we are the only non-paired off person we know. There are a couple of things to do in that instance. One is to spend some time looking inward, figuring out ...

Hi wistfully, It's totally understandable that you'd be feeling lonely, especially after what happened. It may not help with the romantic end of things, but do you have some friends or family that you're close to who you could spend extra time with the next few weeks? Even just being around people w...

Is the area where he lives somewhere you have to go often? And do you think there's any chance he would decide to seek you out? (I don't ask to freak you out, just to evaluate the situation)

Ah, that's good to hear that they offered you that info as well.

Hi wistfully, First off, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you. As to your question, survivors feel all sorts of ways in the wake of what happened to them, and while many do feel upset, and there is definitely no one "right" way to feel. Some people react with shock, some with anger, s...

I would suggest you call your pharmacist and ask for their advice about how to work taking the pill with the time change. Too, if you're worried about comp...
