Re: Five Years Ago (getting some perspective)
My life has been very crazy, and things never really work out the way I plan for them to. So really, I could be answering this question based on the plans I had this time last year :) But okay. Fall of 2009, I was doing an exchange semester at Indiana University, I had just gotten out of a 5-year-re...

Re: A couple questions and advice!
A period that is two days past the expected date is not really late yet - menstrual cycles can vary, and a difference of a few days either way is completely normal. How do you track your period? If you have been using condoms for all direct genital contact, and you have not had a condom failure, the...

Anhils - is this still teh same boyfriend you were talking about a couple of months ago in this thread: http://www.scarleteen.com/bb/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=536&p=2333#p2333 ? If so, the first thing I want to say is that this does not sound like a safe partner for you. This is a partner who has...

First of all, as you noticed yourself, apps cannot calculate your ovulation date. Apps do this based on averages, because they do not have the data that they would need to actually make accurate predictions. For that, they would need daily records of your basal temperature and cervical mucus. So, I'...

Re: Regarding Sex
So, since you started the pill in the middle of your cycle, your protection on the first day was likely still fairly low. That means that you did have a pregnancy risk if your partner ejaculated inside you, however we cannot really make any guesses as to how high. Please do continue to take the pill...

You say you finished the treatment during the withdrawal week? If so, you can rely on your protection again now that you've started the new pack.

Re: Birth Control Pills Question
Yep, late or missing withdrawal bleeds aare a very common side effect as the body gets used to hormonal birth control.
By the way, it is not necessary to test a condom by filling it with water. When a condom breaks, its obvious right away and you'll notice.

I am sorry to hear that you are feeling so rough, Fender. But it sounds like you are already taking the right step: getting some support and outside perspective, like you did with your step mother, is a good start, and it seems that that's also been helpful for you. And of course, the very best thin...

Re: Sex Isn't Pleasurable
So what you are saying is that you DO find sex pleasurable - manual sex and oral sex are sex as well, that is why they are called that :) And not everyone is into every single sexual activity out there. We all have our preferences, things we like more than others. So it is perfectly alright to not f...

Also, even when you are exclusive, it is still a good idea to get tested regularly.

Welcome to Scarleteen, Alice25. I want to start with something that you say in your last line, which is that you are not enjoying sex as much as you "should". I think that right there is key to at least some of what is going on here, the idea that there is something specific way that sex s...

Again, both illness and the Mirena itself can impact periods. Buf if you are concerned, your doctor is the person to call.

Welcome to Scarleteen!
Yes, the stress that illness puts on the body can delay a period. But also, the Mirena can make periods shorter and lighter, and some people may stop having periods altogether while using Mirena.

Welcome back, Skeleton. I think the place to start here is for you to figure out what you want out of this interaction, and also to measure that up against what you can realistically expect. What I am hearing is that you don't know where you're at and what you want, and that you are watching yoursel...

Welcome to Scarleteen, worrygirl19. Since we are neither doctors, nor have we seen what you saw, we cannot make any calls on whether or not it could have been HPV. One thing you can do to find out is to talk to your acquaintance. Mind, if he knew he had HPV and did not tell you, that would have been...

Welcome to Scarleteen, hiim.maria! From what you said, it sounds like what you found on the outside of the condom was your own fluids and lube. If you used the condom correctly and it did not slip off, there should be no way for ejaculate to get on the outside of it. As for the frequency of sex - th...
