Re: Too Old?
Welcome to Scarleteen! It's absolutely fine for you to post. All we ask of over-25s is to be respectful of our younger users and our youth-oriented focus, and to use a different service for questions that are mostly only relevant to older adults (for example, sex in a long-term marriage). Questions ...

Re: Morning After Pill side effects, and finding a doctor.
I'm glad the information helped, and that you had a good experience getting the EC! Although not so much with the other things going on, all sounds a bit much for one day. With your period tracking, do you do daily observations and charting of your cervical mucous, basal temperature and cervix posit...

Re: I'm in the best relationship I've ever been in and want out
Wanting to break up with someone, or feeling like it's best for you to break up with them, is as good a reason as anyone ever needs to break up. Break-ups can be hard, and sometimes at the time it can seem like you need - or the other person asks for - a "legitimate" reason, but truly, the...

Re: BC methods and no-risk activities
All the things in the "NO pregnancy risk" list have no pregnancy risk. It'd be a terrible list otherwise, and we certainly wouldn't be doing our jobs as sex educators! There's a lot of misinformation on the internet about reproduction and pregnancy, so you need to be careful where you get ...

Re: Vaginal Discharge
Like I said before, no, there's not a way to know when you ovulate if you haven't already been observing and charting your body for at least several months. Information about how this kind of observation and charting is done is in Get With the Flow: All About FAM , which Sam already linked you to ab...

(I'm a little confused here. I think Johanna's reply here was actually posted back last year despite what the time stamp says, and laurabriann, it says you just bumped the thread. Is there something with this thread you'd like to address at the moment? Happy to do that if there is, just wanted to un...

Re: Is this a condom failure?
If the condom was still on the penis at the end of intercourse, it should have done its job, yes. But obviously, I wasn't there, so I can't give you a 100% definitive answer about what was what. He - or you - does need to hold the condom on the penis while he withdraws, every time, because that's ne...

Re: URGENT! Spotting .. What do I do?
This spotting doesn't sound like any cause for concern. Spotting is a fairly common side effect of the pill. It doesn't say anything about the effectiveness of your pill - it's just a side effect which may or may not happen. Too, if you're due to start your placebo pills today, your withdrawal bleed...

Re: Is this a condom failure?
Again, personally, I'm not seeing a need for EC. If your boyfriend was holding onto the base like you said he does when he withdrew, he'd have been able to feel where the base was around his penis, and can answer your questions about the condom's position while you were both having intercourse. Does...

Re: Is this a condom failure?
It's sounding like the condom was still on the penis, and was just slipped down a small amount? If that's correct, then the condom here should have done its job, and I'm not seeing a particular need for EC. Taking EC or not is of course up to you, and you're the person who was there and knows best w...
Re: Not sure
Yes, I can do that.
Probably keeping it to the more usual hour-ish, because it's mostly just me here today and Sundays can be a bit busier, and needing to properly balance things! Happy to do this for you. Around now works for me, if you're around?

BC methods and no-risk activities
Hi Terra, you asked But aren't there like anything I could do to have a relationship that is sexually active and I don't have to be afraid of ending up pregnant. and But isn't there any methods without consuming pills(costly), condom(too risky), vasectomy(too crazy), pull-out(still risky)? We have a...

Re: Vaginal Discharge
Like I said above, you can't find out much about what's happening in your cycle just by looking at the cervical fluid you have right now. You would need to have observed your cervical fluid every day for months to find out what your own patterns are. Too, cervical fluid before and around the time of...

Re: Morning After Pill side effects, and finding a doctor.
Further to the above- I've done a bit of quick digging for you. You should be able to get emergency contraception on prescription from a doctor or family planning clinic, or buy it from a pharmacy. If you prefered to go to another town to get it, that's of course up to you, but healthcare profession...

Hi Proinsisin, and welcome to the boards! Thanks for being so thoughtful about our site use rules. You said you were grinding against each other - you didn't say that either of you were wearing any clothes, so I'm assuming you weren't? But to get it out of the way at the beginning, if either of you ...

I'm sorry to hear that, although it's also not unusual.

Re: Not sure
Yep. Focusing on something else can help to take the edge off it, help you think and feel only as much as you can deal with in the moment. You certainly have a great music selection for that!
Re: Not sure
Sorry to hear that. Hang in there! And in the long-run, it's probably much better for you to be feeling your feelings rather than bottling them up or disconnecting from them. It's still lousy and hard when you're in it, though, I know.

Re: Relationship troubles after pregnancy scare
I'm glad you two were able to have a talk about what sexual things you are and aren't comfortable with. How do you feel about the arrangements you have now? Does he seem happy and comfortable with the agreements you have at the moment? Yep, there are many ways other than being sexual of being loving...

Nope, there's no time limit . Sometimes, even having a blank space after "I feel" can express something useful.
