Re: Gender Confusion
Hey Heather. Yeah I totally agree there, that framework is a lot less restrictive than the typical ones and I like how versatile it is! I'm still not sure though, I feel like I have elements of both ambisexual and skolisexual if that's possible. Like... I know I'm not attracted to 'men' sexually (Re...

Gender Confusion
Hey again Scarleteen. In the past I always used to identify as male/cis (Gender) because it was my biological sex, and because I guess society often acts like cisgender is 'default' or something, but it always made me feel weird and I generally tried to avoid the topic of gender wherever possible. I...

Re: Distinguishing Sexuality Through Anxiety
I don't think I've quite gotten the hang of the whole self-care thing yet. I never seem to feel comfortable doing anything that's "just for me". My brain makes me feel guilty like I should be doing something else. Besides, my energy is so low now that whenever I try to do something I think...

Re: Distinguishing Sexuality Through Anxiety
Thank you so much for your help Sam. I think the suggestion to take a short break from all this could help. I'll post a full response in a few days or maybe sooner, and also try to stop researching during that time so I can process for a while. There aren't many things I enjoy anymore but I'll try a...

Re: Distinguishing Sexuality Through Anxiety
(Thanks for the resources, I'm still pretty lost but they were helpful. There were some ace-related YouTube channels mentioned in the resources section of that last link so I'll check them out more later; I recognised a couple of them. Thank you. ) I don't really know where to take the conversation ...

Re: Distinguishing Sexuality Through Anxiety
Oh... does that mean that Scarleteen staff can't give me much advise about it here since you suggested I should look to external sources of information? Also are there no articles on the site about it or anything? I'm reluctant to post on the forums to users in case nobody answers. But I guess I cou...

Re: Distinguishing Sexuality Through Anxiety
Thanks for replying Sam. I'm still not sure about demisexuality, I mean with that one person I felt closest to I still didn't actually want to be sexual with them, it was just a *bit* closer but still not even close. But you could be right. I'm hesitant to face a possibility of me being any further ...

Distinguishing Sexuality Through Anxiety
Hello again Scarleteen. This is really the first question I should've asked I think. I've asked a few questions pertaining to sex/sexuality already but the truth is I don't plan on being sexually active anytime soon. If.. ever, maybe. But it's not just a choice I made, it's... I'll try and explain. ...

I've only just started looking though so I'll give it more time; seems silly to give up so soon. Something might come up. Thank you for the idea.

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
I can't find anything suitable. I've been browsing for hours and the only organisations active in my city I've found either: only accept people who identify as women, require social work experience/relevant degree, or both. I'm moving city soon so hopefully there will be more there, but I'll keep my...

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
Hey there Jacob.
You mentioned supporting groups who fight sexism. Could you maybe tell me about ways to support such groups, that really make a dent? And what some of those groups would be?

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
Thanks for your response Heather. I see what you mean; I think your estimate is probably right. I looked some stuff up and apparently they've been running trials for various types of male contraceptives for decades but they all get cancelled because of minor side effects, despite the fact that those...

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
And also, how far away do you think more reliable contraceptives for males are? Could there be a pill/IUD/shot etc equivalent be available in the next 10 years? The responsibility of having to manage contraception shouldn't fall on women as much as it does, men should be able to bear more of the res...

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
I had absolutely no idea there were studies like this active, that should be publicised more. I don't really understand why more men won't participate considering how important it is.
Do you know much about how someone could participate in studies like that? Are they safe?

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
I have another question: how can I increase the effectiveness to that 99.9999% exclusively with birth control methods which I would have personal control over? All the combinations I've found which reach that likelihood require a method used by the other person as well. I read that with spermicide i...

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
(I'm surprised modern science still hasn't managed an easy, 100% effective contraceptive method that is safe and non-intrusive. Can it really be that hard? They sent a rover to Mars before managing that. )

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
A 0.0001% chance might be okay, maybe, but that eliminates even more people right? I wouldn't be surprised to find out plenty of people wouldn't be comfortable getting an IUD and I would never be comfortable asking a partner to get one, for the obvious reason: it's not my choice to make. Plus I've h...

Re: Vasectomy Alternative
I can't help but notice the only other option with a fixed, guaranteed 100% prevention chance is life-long abstinence from those types of sexual activity. Choosing that option seems like a pretty big life choice. I suppose there are plenty of types of sexual contact that can't cause pregnancy though...

Vasectomy Alternative
People would probably say I'm too young to be thinking about this but I know I don't ever want to have kids and I read about vasectomies a while back but almost threw up after reading about it because I get really queazy with medical stuff, especially relating to that area. It sounds awful, and ther...

I understand now, thank you, and I'm sorry I acted that way. I'm going to go to therapy a couple times before I post again, so that I'll be better. Thank you for being understanding.

Re: Sex too complicated to be enjoyable?
Could you please elaborate a little bit on "I'd encourage you to try -- and I know it's hard because you are just in a very intense anxiety-full headspace at present -- not to create big conflicts or fears here when it has been something that has been of benefit to you."? It sounds like im...

You're right. And I promise I wasn't accusing you of thinking I was like that, it was just in my head. I just haven't been able to talk to anyone in so long and I don't want to mess this up. I want you to know that I deeply respect you and everything you and everyone else here does. I'm sorry I've b...

Yes please delete it, thank you. Can we talk a little bit about my character flaws shown? Even if the post did no harm, I feel bad that I posted it, and whenever I've asked if something I've said or done was sexist on this thread here (Like my lack of ability to interact with women) there was no rep...
