Re: How to avoid cystitis??
No problem, there is no reason why it can not wait until tomorrow as long as you don't start to experience any significant/ persistent pain (which is more of an in general thing and not something you should expect to happen).

Re: How to avoid cystitis??
Hi busylizzie, I would recommend that you see your physician so that you can be diagnosed and receive proper treatment. If you have an infection antibiotics need to be prescribed. Your doctor might also want to do STI screening to rule out anything else if you are not currently up to date. Once you ...

Re: I don't get why I have such a tight vagina
Hi Cinzia, I just wanted to pass along another piece you might find helpful: I Cannot Insert Anything Into My Vagina Sam has already brought up a few things that are discussed (lube and being relaxed). You can also check in with a physician to rule out any conditions, but it does sound like this cou...

Hi Smile1234, Diarrhea is considered a pattern of very loose stool, typically occurring over several days. It can impact the effectiveness of the pill if it happens within two hours of taking it or if it continues over a long period of time. But "looser stool than normal" doesn't sound lik...

Re: Medication affecting birth control
HI Manfanmin,
It's best for you to check in with the doctor who prescribes your birth control. In the meantime, backing up with a condom is always a good idea when you have concerns about effectiveness (while increasing your level of protection and protecting against STIs).

No problem, there are several organizations that focus on teen (sexual) health who have information/research regarding policy and it's impact on youth. Advocates for Youth can give you a state by state breakdown, but you can check out the organizations I mentioned above. In my experience, sex educat...

To add, presenting why this is necessary and how teens are impacted by having/not having sexual health education is a great way to make your case. Check into stats for youth rates of pregnancies, STIS, and sexual risk behaviors in your state and/or age group. Teen dating violence as well! You can fi...

Re: Sex Ed Club?
Hey Kitten, I think this sounds great!!!! I love hearing about youth who are actively working to bring sexual education to their communities. A lot this might depend on attitudes and policies at your school and/or district. Having an adult sponsor could help you get an idea of what those policies mi...

Hi Rainbowhooves, The thing is we can not make a diagnosis, only suggestions on what could be going on. Ultimately a doctor who has examined you is the only one that can give you an answer. If you are concerned and continue to experience symptoms I would recommend that you see your doctor. It is pos...

Re: Birth control pill
Brown discharge can be spotting and is a common side effect associated with taking the pill. Brown discharge can also be related to other things. The only way to determine if this is spotting or something else is to check in with a doctor.

You can find a detailed answer here: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/advice/without_sexual_contact_could_i_have_an_sti STIs are transmitted by sexual contact but some can be transmitted during nonsexual activity (such as sharing needles with a person who is HIV p...

Re: The Pill and Spotting?
Just recommend staying update on sexual healthcare to rule out anything else, which you've been doing. Symptoms don't always present themselves when there is an STI but sometimes discharge can be sign of infection. But it sounds like what you are experiencing is spotting, common side effect from the...

Re: The Pill and Spotting?
Hi itsmeisa, Sounds like what you are describing is spotting, but it is a good idea to get up to date on sti screening if you aren't already. It takes your body some time to adjust to the hormones, side effects may look different after a few months. Spotting and breast tenderness are both common sid...

Even though the hormones are the same, they enter the bloodstream differently depending on the method so it MAY result in different side effects or the way that you experience those side effects.

Even if the pill is dissolved, as long as you ingest all of it, it is fine. Some people dissolve the pill when they have a difficult time swallowing them and probiotics (yogurt falls into this category) will not impact the effectiveness of your pill so you should be good ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

The mini pill is less likely to cause nausea. I believe that there are only a few combination pills that have been shown to help with acne. That is something you can ask your doctor when you talk to them about birth control. And as Heather mentioned early, you might not continue to experience nausea...

Paragards are very effective at preventing pregnancy! Really it depends on what works best for you. I think not having to keep up with "proper use" is a benefit many find attractive but, again, it's up to you. The most common side effect is heavier and longer periods as well as spotting wh...
