Best storage place for pills in the summer?
Dear scarleteen, I always keep my pills in my nightstand in a little bag. But as it’s summer, it’s getting hotter and hotter and I don’t have AC. I know I’m not supposed to keep them in a bathroom because of humidity but it’s already too hot anywhere else in my house, where do you suggest I keep the...

Period issue
Dear scarleteen, I noticed that for the past two withdrawn bleedings my bleed is basically absent and very scanty. I’ve taken the pill for almost three years now, is this something that happens normally? Just periods slowly fading the longer you’re on the pill?

Antibiotics and sex almost a week ago
Six days ago I had sex for the last time, and today I got prescribed penicillin for a nasty cold that just won’t go away. I know that antibiotics lower the effectiveness of the pill, which is why I won’t be having sex for the time being. However, since I had sex six days ago am I still at risk of pr...

I’ve been on the pill for 3 years now, and it isn’t uncommon for me to get pains around week 2 of my pills. Usually during this time my leg hurts but not really like hurts more like an annoying tingling feeling. Same goes for my abdomen. On the right side of my abdomen it tingles a bit. When I talke...

Most likely I’ll have to take antibiotics..my question is if I’m taking antibiotics but I had sex yesterday will it decrease the effectiveness of the pill? Should I take morning a...

should there pleasure during sex?
Dear all, when I first heard about sex I assumed that pretty much female orgasms are hard to reach. So I was not really surprised that penetration, oral or even mutual masturbation doesn't feel pleasurable. Recently, my friend lost her virginity and keeps telling me how great it feels. How come I ca...

I used to smoke for about a year but inconsistently while taking the pill Yaz. I stopped due to the fact of higher blood clot risk. Am I still at a higher risk even if I stopped smoking completely?

Not sure if my period was something to worry about..
I am on the pill and I always get my withdraw bleed on the last placebo pill. Usually starts light and the blood is slightly oxidized, but gets heavier and the blood color changes. I got my period when I was supposed to, but this time through the eintirety of 4 days it was only brown and sometimes d...

Re: How to work on trust issues in a relationship?
My boyfriend avoids the topic of cheating. And somehow I feel like that belief may apply to him because a few months before he tried to kiss a girl. It didn't work but only because she rejected him. But since he told me about it, I still trusted him and let him go to parties. That is when the actual...

Re: How to work on trust issues in a relationship?
Honestly, I think that if someone is capable of cheating, that means it must be deep within them. As in you can't see it on a daily basis, but you can when for example there is too much alcohol. You never really know if it was the alcohol or the actual personality coming out.. I think the reason I a...

Re: How to work on trust issues in a relationship?
well, initially he is the one who suggested no longer going to parties. And I made sure I was clear that I may never be ok with them just to make sure I am not controlling him, I told him he can leave if it's not ok with him and every once in a while I make sure he is still ok with certain boundarie...

How to work on trust issues in a relationship?
Dear scarleteen, some time ago my bf did a despicable thing and cheated on me. After thinking about it for a few months, I decided to forgive him. 2 years have passed since that moment and yet though he does not do anything wrong, I cant seem to trust him. I asked him to stop going to parties for th...

Am I a typical or perfect birth control user?
I take my combined pill every day sometimes up to an hour of time difference between 7-7:50 pm. Whenever I take antibiotics, I either don’t have sex or use a condom along with the pull out method. When I’m not on antibiotics I use the pill and the pull out method alone. I use my pill every day, I ne...

How can you get HPV
I had a question regarding std’s. I had sex and I heard that once y...

Re: Overweight and pill
Thank you for your reply! Yes I am backing up not only with condoms but also pull out method. The reason I’m so worried about he pill working properly is because I don’t only take it for sexual reasons. I take it because I have ovarian cysts forming and the pill suppresses that. When I found out tha...

Overweight and pill
Hi everyone, There was much debate on whether or not the pill works if you’re overweight or obese. I found many research sites that say no it doesn’t interfere but also many other ones that say they do. This put me to worry because my BMI is 26. Does that mean the pill doesn’t work for me as well as...

Smoking and pill
Hello, I’ve been taking yaz for 2 and a half years now. But for 1.5 years I smoked inconsistently and sometimes smoked more than 15 cigarettes a day but very rarely maybe once or twice. Now that I’ve stopped completely without ever thinking of going back does my risk of a stroke go back to normal?

Re: Migraines and pills
Hi sorry I may have accidentally posted my reply as a new post. The thing is, when I was prescribed birth control pills I didn’t really suffer from headaches as much. Now they usually occur when the weather changes and go away on their own. They are on one side of my head and aren’t very severe. The...

Migraines and pills
Hi everyone! So I have some confusion regarding migraines and birth control pills. So first I heard that you’re at risk of a stroke if you have migraines and take pills containing estrogen. But then a new study says that it’s only migraine with aura. I also wanted to ask about how big the risk is of...

Plan b effects
Hi so I’m on birth control pills, I take them at the same time every day which is 7:30pm. Last Friday at 11-11:30pm I threw up several times and was scared my protection would be compromised so used a condom the next day, which broke so I decided to take precaution and take plan b pill a few minutes...

Re: Birth control pills and pregnancy
Dear Sam, Thank you for responding. My last question is, if someone was pregnant and on the pill and did have implantation bleeding or decidual bleeding would it be the same amount and colour as a normal withdrawal bleed? Can implantation and decimal bleeding have heavy to moderate flow and last mor...
