Feminist self-care?
Hi everyone, So I have been trying to put self-care into practise lately but one thing I really struggle with as a (feminine!) woman is self-care in terms of appearance. A lot of websites I've read encourage either completely indulging in your appearance (embracing your sexuality, taking selfies, et...

Re: Dealing with a lack of respect from someone you used to
Yeah, that makes sense, although I do feel that seeing as I've talked about it before and she hasn't changed her behaviour, maybe I should be adopting a more "well, I can't teach her to respect me and it's not my job as my self-worth isn't defined by her view of me" kind of stance. On the ...

Re: Dealing with a lack of respect from someone you used to
Thanks for your quick reply - and yes I have, many times. Many times I have said "I don't feel respected by you, it's upsetting me". The last time I confronted her about it was the break-up itself and she did apologise but it was a very weak apology and she didn't try to explain her behavi...

Dealing with a lack of respect from someone you used to date
Hey everyone, So I'm dealing with a bit of frustration right now and wondered if anyone had any words of advice. I very recently broke up with my girlfriend due to the relationship being unhealthy and quite damaging for my mental health, but we have remained very close friends. Another issue in the ...

Re: How to not be shy in front of the girl I like?
Hey Heather, thank you for your reply. I used to be really shy and I guess would characterise myself as quite shy, especially with large groups of people. I don't know how to explain it - I'm very comfortable and confident with people who I don't feel intimidated by, and then very shy around people ...

How to not be shy in front of the girl I like?
Hey everyone, So this sounds like a typical "how can I be confident in front of the person I like??" dilemma but it's a bit more complicated than that. Several months ago I met a girl at uni who I was immediately attracted to and developed a crush on, and at that same time we started getti...

How to be more confident with friend-making at uni?
Hi everyone, So I just finished my first year at uni, and although I've had a great year and made some amazing friends, I also spent a large portion of the year idolising people instead of going out there and making friends with them. So for example - there's this group of people who I have a lot in...

I thought she liked me buut...should I just give up?
Hey everyone, So I've really liked a girl who goes to my university for almost 3 months now. Around a month ago, when we were still at uni, I learnt from a couple of her friends that she liked me too. However I couldn't pursue anything at the time because I still had a boyfriend. At that point, thou...
