support provide me some related articles

Unread post by Iamie_28 »

Hello, I'm quite confused because of my lack of understanding about sex education, please advise or provide me with some articles related to the following topic:
-first time, my boyfriend at that time there was only precum and his hand touched the shaft of the penis then touched my vagina. -
The second time, he ejaculated on his hand and washed it with water (I was worried if it was clean) then touched my vagina.
Is there any chance of pregnancy in both of the above cases? I am on the 19th day of my cycle and cannot use emergency contraception.

Hi Lamie!

When you were asking questions about this in September I believe we linked you to this one:

Human Reproduction: A Seafarer's Guide

Did you give it a read?

What I will say is that sperm is not going to survive any of these situations:
  • transferring by the touch of a hand
  • surviving as part of pre-ejaculate outside the body
  • being washed with anything including water
  • being in the open air, outside the body at all - except for a very brief length of time
It is going to be a very hardy virus, or bacteria that survives things like that, not human sperm cells, nor the seminal fluid they need to be in to remain viable.

Even so, I can totally understand being stressed, and perhaps some of that stress being worse due to not having access to emergency contraception.

How does the rest of your sexual health situation look? Do you have access to condoms or other birth control for example?

Thank you for your support, I read the article and found it very useful. However, I want to confirm a little, that not only did he "touch" but he also put his finger in. Many people told me there was still a very small risk of pregnancy, but I was insecure about that "very small" part. My place is quite backward, so it's quite difficult to quickly find contraceptive methods for teenagers.

Hey there Iamie,

I’m glad you were able to look through that article, and that it was useful for you! With regard to the situation you’re describing where he put his finger in, that situation is still indirect contact with pre-ejaculate and is not how pregnancy occurs. Even if he put his finger in, the pre-ejaculate would still have to be transferred from his penis to his hand first, which dries out and kills sperm cells.

When folks say there is a small chance of pregnancy, they mean that whatever activity you described is now how pregnancy is known to occur, but it could theoretically happen. That’s true for some circumstances — However, in the circumstances you’ve described here, sperm is just not going to survive to cause pregnancy.

I’m sorry to hear, though, that it is hard to access safer sex supplies quickly in the event of needing it quickly. Are you able to get condoms before you need them quickly, so you have them around?

Hello, wish everyone a happy new year. Since posting this article, I have had regular menstruation every 28 days and I am very secure about that and since then I have not had any sexual activity. . But recently, although I understand that it is normal to miss a period for a few days, it has now been more than 7 days that I have missed my current period, making me extremely worried again about the small possibilities that can happen. (thank you very much and sorry for my not very good English)

It’s normal for periods to be late sometimes, especially with stress. From what you’ve described, pregnancy seems unlikely. A test can help ease your mind, but it’s probably just your body doing its thing.

That "not high" thing scared me because I thought I might be unlucky. As mentioned, my place is too backward to do tests or the like. I understand being late is normal but this is too late.

If you haven't had any sexual activity it's not just a "very small" possibility, it's just not possible at all to have become pregnant. The length of time between periods or a period being missing doesn't change your chances when those chances are already zero.

Are there any activities you feel like you could do to take your mind off it, or sooth you when you are having these kinds of anxious thoughts?

Also, by the way, by my research you should be able to buy a pregnancy test somewhere, it might just mean finding a way to go to a bigger town with a pharmacy and paying for the test. I wouldn't recommend taking a test right now though, as you haven't had any pregnancy risks, and a test wouldn't tell you anything we don't already know.
