Am i pregnant?

Unread post by Starlight »

So
We were doing stuff today, and he was rubbing his penis against my vulva, and then i told him to grab a condom. I dont believe there was pre ejaculate preasent, he did not ejaculate but he did beforehand when i gave him a blowjob and there was nothing present. I didnt feel anything wet, damp, ect. Could i have gotten pregnant? Ive only been on birth control for 4 days but i took it on a day where i was second day withdrawal bleeding, crimson red. (after missing pills because of insurance) and blood was bright red, filled up pads, general like that. Could i have been fertile and am i possibly pregnant??

The precum or sperm if possible would have been on the tip for a while. Im saying around 5 minutes at least, but the tip i believe was dry once he rubbed it against me. It didnt look as if there was any moisture, he was just hard. It was 10 degrees celcius in the room because we had left the windows open overnight. Would sperm even be viable if it came into contact with my vulva at that point??

To add onto this- i have not had any sort of fertile looking discharge EVEN OFF birth control in A LONG TIME. All thick, matte, eggshell coloured. Sort of the texture of paint that is somewhat dry but still malleable and spreadable per se. Is there even a SLIGHT chance im fertile if i have literally not even close to fertile discharge? Sticky ish, not watery, holds its shape and is not liquid. I dont get discharge at all at this time and i have not for a long time. I have lots of vaginal dryness usually. Would this even have a CHANCE to get me pregnant?

Hi Starlight,

If you were still in the withdrawal phase of your birth control when you restarted it sounds like you didn't really have a significant gap, and it sounds like we can assume that birth control has been doing what it should through this whole time - so I would expect it to work as well as it ever has!

Having recently ejaculated, and direct genital contact are both risk factors when you view them in isolation, though low ones, but that's when there's no birth control present - in your case those low risks are not going to have much bearing, when your birth control exists to tackle full-on high risk-of-pregnancy sex!

Hormonal birth control can at times fail, but there's nothing you're saying that indicates it has! I.e. you're not describing any symptoms of pregnancy, or describing a risk (direct genital contact without birth control) we would advise extra precautions around.

It also sounds like you're very attuned to your reproductive health, down to tracking your discharge, I'd be very surprised if a sudden pregnancy took you by surprise!

Thank you so much :) the only other source i had was google and after a few experiences with the stress and the inaccuracy that that can cause-

The withdrawal phase that i had was 2 days long because my insurance for the birth control didnt kick in, and half a pack got stolen in a bag that i brought with me one day. This was crappy, but i did bleed quite a bit so even if it was a withdrawal im unsure if there were even any eggs to fertalize 😭 had bad cramps similar to my usual period, not like the crams i get on birth control when im adjusting,

I just pay a lot of attention to detail lol. Thanks for the help!! :)

No problem!

For more info: There's no egg in a withdrawal bleed, it's a reaction to the hormones stopping, not a form of menstruation/period. Without birth control, the risk that early on in your cycle (when you're not on any birth control) is that sperm (and a decent amount of it) might survive up to 5-7 days (in dwindling amounts) and you might have gotten your cycle wrong and ovulated way earlier than expected - ovulation would usually be 14 days after your period, if you were having periods, which you aren't.

Does that pose as a risk of ovulation in the 2 day withdrawal that i had??

Hi Starlight :)

No, that does not pose a risk of ovulation. As Jacob said, it sounds like this was a withdrawal bleed, which does not carry an egg. Too, it doesn’t sound like you had a significant break from the birth control if you were still in a withdrawal bleed upon restarting the birth control. Does that help clarify a bit?
