More advice needed!
Hi everyone, just wanted to ask for some more advice. I’ve taken my combined pill levest for 21 days and I’m now on the 2nd day of the withdrawal break. I usually only shorten this to 4 days. But today I’ve woken up with a terrible migraine/ headache, NOT with aura or any other worrying signs. I was just wondering if I can shorten this break to only 2 days and carry on with my pills tonight, surely this wouldn’t effect any protection. I’m just worried that my body might “think” I’ve missed 2 pills even tho it’s my scheduled break. Thankyou so much x

Hi there, Rubyc19!
That 's right, starting a new pack of pills would be safe, and it wouldn't affect your protection from pregnancy--your body should adjust to the new schedule just fine. Just to understand, are you thinking of starting a new pack because of your migraine? Do you feel like taking the active pills helps with headaches like this one, usually?

Yes I usually don’t suffer with migraines when taking the pills it’s usually during the 4 day break, I usually like the reassurance of having my withdrawal bleed but I’m thinking of just restarting my pills early and continuing on , however I’m aware that I might not have my usual bleed because I have shorted the break ? X

Hi Rubyc19,
Sorry to hear you are suffering from a migraine! From my knowledge, you should be all set protection wise. The bleeding this go around could be shorter in duration, lighter in flow, or absent all together. Just note, that you should only use this withdrawal bleeding tactic once a cycle.
Best of luck!
