Jealousy

If it doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, this is probably the place for it.

Jealousy

Unread post by SilverFalcon92 »

I wanna know is being jealous is a normal thing a human can experience? For me I do experience some jealousy. The jealousy I get is when I see someone having something that I want like a person being rich, having fame off of something like music, acting or content creation something like that. I don’t wanna try and bring them down or anything I’m actually happy for those people who are accomplishing their dreams, goals and passion. For me I see that as motivation to keep pushing myself everyday and never giving up on what I love to do. If they can do I I know I can. So is this jealousy a normal human emotion?

Hey SilverFalcon92,

Jealousy is absolutely a normal and common feeling to have, with most everyone you meet being able to tell you their own story of feeling jealous toward another person at one time or another. Like you said, often people will feel jealous, yet still wish the best for and empathize with the people they're jealous of. This creates a reasonably confusing dynamic, but it's just due to your emotional and rational feelings colliding. Emotionally, it's valid to feel disappointed, envious, or jealous of something someone has. Rationally, it's also valid to know mentally that they deserve that thing, and you perhaps do too (even if you can't get it right now).
