I'm not really sure what pops in my head, if that makes sense (it probably doesn't).

How about even starting with a question, any random question, and then trying to formulate an answer. For instance, "Why is the sky blue" then how you answer can be anything: Someone spilled blue paint and it evaporated, It becomes the color of popsicles that people want (and many people like the blue). It may get your brain into journaling mode, then you can move onto other things that you need or want to work on journaling more.

Well, the sky is blue because of refraction of light through the atmosphere, or something like that.

You also don't have to be sure about what pops into your head: you just need to start writing it down. :) Again, journaling isn't about having the right answers, or any answers, it's just about the process of writing down stuff in your head.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm thinking, though, in all honesty.

I see you here writing down things as you think them just fine! And maybe one way you start one of those prompts, when you don't know what you're thinking, is just to write, "I don't know what I think about this." Then you can jump off of that and write down WHY you think you don't know, or how it makes you feel not to know, etc.

Truly, this isn't an assignment: just a process. And it might take some time and experimenting to get used to, and some tiny starts like writing down "I don't know." Give yourself time to play with this: not minutes or hours, but days, weeks and months.

That's fair. Although, and I'm very sorry for being so thick, and I completely understand if I'm being annoying and completely understand and accept any treatment I receive/will receive, I honestly have no idea why I don't know what to write when it comes to the prompts.

That's very true.

Not annoyed, no worries!

(For the record, I have said many times in my life that I think "I don't know" is often one of the most true, valuable and meaningful phrases that exists. Acknowledging we don't know a thing can be powerful stuff!)

That's a wonderful relief.

(Very interesting and insightful way to look at it!)
