Using Quarantine/Staying at Home To Explore Identity

Unread post by Sam W »

I've seen more than a few publications putting out advice or stories about folks using the fact that many of us are/have been stuck at home as a chance to explore and embrace their identity (this piece offers some good examples: https://www.them.us/story/self-acceptance-in-quarantine).

If this is something you've experienced, how was the process for you? What things did you try?
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

The lockdown has given me a lot of time to explore all the ins and outs of presentation, fro various levels of shaving, to even little things like my hair and allowing myself to try moving in a more stereotypically "feminine" way, etc. I haven't come to any revelations, but I'm trying out a lot of things and ways of seeing myself that I just didn't have time to do before

That's awesome, bikinksterboy. I also feel like I've had the time to try things out with my appearance/presentation -- and to do so privately, since I'm not leaving the house much. I've really enjoyed it and I think it's made me more comfortable in my body overall.
