Hey so lately I've had a really high sex drive and idk why. When my mom gave me the "talk" I thought it was super disgusting. But all of a sudden I want someone inside of me. I'm on birth control for epilepsy. Would the birth control be making me crave sex?

No, that’s not a thing that birth control methods do.

It’s more likely that you have interest in sex for some of the same reasons people most often do, some of which is chemical — our own bodies produce those neuro chemical substances, we don’t need pills for that — some is social, some is about intellectual curiosity and pleasure, comfort and sensation seeking.

I don’t know what your Mom talked to you about, but I’m sorry it made you feel uncomfortable. Sometimes that happens even when parents have the very best intentions.

Nope! There's nothing wrong with having a desire to be sexual just like there's nothing wrong with having a desire to eat something good, or go for a swim or take a nap. Sexual desire is something that's just a really common part of being human.
