Why did I have a nightmare about sexual misconduct??
Hi, thank you.
I just had a dream where a person I knew in the dream, was making me feel very, very uncomfortable and I cried and when I woke up in real life I was crying there too and the dream was so real and vivid and it really had a lot of elements and it was scary.
I'm just very upset about having had a dream like this. There was no reason for it to happen!
I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance or something haha.

Hi iloveeveryone,
Oof, those instances where dreams kind of follow you when you wake up can be so rough. We can't say for certain why it happened, but one thing I will say is that, when you're stressed or when your brain slips into nightmare mode, your dreams can reflect that stress. But how they do that can be just grabbing different scenarios or elements that you find stressful or scary and jamming them together. Does that make sense?

Yes, that makes sense, thank you a lot! That time I was worried about why that was the content of the dream, but now I think that doesn't matter much, and doesn't say anything about me either!
