Help with Anusol Cream
Hi Scarleteen team.
I was wondering if you could help me with a query.
I purchased some cream for internal hemorrhoids that my pharmacist told me about.
In the box that the cream came in, there's an applicator that you can use to insert into the anus.
From what I know, the bum hole is quite tight and restrictive.
How can I insert the applicator tube? Do you have any tips?

Re: Help with Anusol Cream
Hey GS_6 -- you're right, the anus can be restrictive and it may be difficult to put something inside. One thing to note up top here is that this was likely considered in the design of the applicator, and the applicator is likely much thinner than something like a sex toy or penis. You may have an easier time than you're anticipating.
If you are wanting to be a little bit more prepared or if you try and can't do it, the first thing I would recommend is using lubricant. Lubricant is very helpful when inserting things into the anus because the anus does not self-lubricate. You can read all about different types of lube here. Is this something you can easily access if you need to?

Re: Help with Anusol Cream
Hi Carly.
Thank you for your reply.
The applicator hole is roughly 1cm.
With regards to using lubricant, I will definitely try that.
Regarding the position I should be in, I've tried standing and squatting, but they didn't feel comfortable. Any thoughts?

Re: Help with Anusol Cream
Hey GS_6 - two positions you can try are to stand, but with one foot on a stool or chair or small box, and the other could be to lay down on your side (on your bed or an excercise mat or similar), with one leg straight and bring the knee of the other towards your chest. If you don't want to worry about getting lubricant on the sheets or mat, then you can just put down a towel first. Hope you heal well soon

Re: Help with Anusol Cream
Hi Elise,
I tried inserting the applicator using the laying down position and it was great for me.
Thanks for your help.
