Period question

So I've been having steady periods now for many years since I started getting it, and I keep track using an app so my periods usually come around the same day each month. However I noticed that this month I seemed to have ovulated later than usual and now my period hasn't come yet.

I'm just wondering if it's normal for our bodies to miss a period once in a while?

I know I'm not pregnant because I haven't done anything sexual at all, therefore my only theory is my period will most likely come late this month or completely skip February and come in March instead. I've had this happen to me before when I was younger.

Should I just wait for my period to come naturally or should I go see my obgyn soon?

Hi Edhelraen,

If you've been tracking and noticed that you ovulated later than usual, then it's possible your period will be later than usual as well. Even then, it's possible to miss a period for lots of reasons: M.I.A or, Dude, Where's My Period?.

One missing period isn't a huge cause for concern (since you know you're not pregnant). If you miss more than two periods, that would be the time to check in with a healthcare provider to see if there's an underlying cause that needs addressing, but for now I would just keep an eye on your cycle.
