According to the instructions, COCP (combined oral contraceptive pill) needs to be taken on the first day of the menstrual cycle. But is it okay to start taking it on the second or third day?
I saw online that it is OK to take it in the first five days of the menstrual cycle , but condoms must be used in the first seven days. So, is it more dangerous if don't take it on the first day?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Sakamoto!
Yes, it is okay to start taking the pill on the second or third day- it isn't more dangerous than taking it on the first day. In general, if someone takes the pill within the first five days of a cycle, they should be protected after seven days. But we recommend using a backup method (like condoms) for a whole cycle, just to be safe.
