Hi Nijahlashae, and welcome to the boards!

When inserting anything into the vaginal canal for the first time, it’s important to start slow and with as little insertion as possible to minimize that stretching pain. Your corona (formerly known as the hymen), gently stretches to accommodate more insertion, but this can get painful if there’s too much of a stretch at once. It sounds like you saw that a bit, too: when you inserted two fingers for the first time it hurt, but the second time it felt better. It’s kind of like if you try to touch your toes super fast immediately after not stretching for awhile: it can hurt unless you start slow!

My advice is to incorporate lubricant and continue with the fingers, maybe even starting with a pinky finger or one index finger before increasing to two fingers. When the amount of fingers you can accommodate is similar to your partner’s penis, then it may be more comfortable to try genital insertion.I also think it’ll be helpful to explore forms of sex that don’t involve inserting anything first — exploring other erogenous zones apart from the vaginal canal, like the clitoris, the vulva, the nipples, etc., can be really helpful to making insertion more comfortable. How does that all sound to you?
