I wanna text him so bad

Unread post by Annatea »

I wanna text him so bad these few last weeks I can’t stop thinking about him help.

I met this guy a year ago online he is a little older than me i was 16 he was 22 but like we matched so good we called the whole night and we watched movies and played games but then school started and we both got so busy so we decided to stop talking cz we kinda got on each other skin a lot but like we had plans and stuff when I’d turn 18 we would meet cz he lived in an other country next to mine but like I’m almost turning 18 in a month I can’t stop thinking about him he made me feel so safe and happy I had a really bad summer but when we met everything became better he helped me a lot during those hard times should I text him or not?

Thank u for replying❤️

Hi there, Annatea.

I'm afraid I can't tell you what to do around this, but I do also think that a text is a pretty low-stakes thing to do. In other words, I don't think that texting someone to say hello (who hasn't asked you not to, or who isn't unsafe for you in some way) is something you probably have to think too hard about. After all, the worst he can do is not answer. By all means, I would not expect anything major to come of it, after all, you only hung out the once, so it's not like there's really anything major to pick up with, this would just be you getting back in touch.

Do *you* feel like it's a big deal to decide whether to text or not? If so, can you maybe tell me a little more about why so we can offer you more help if you feel like you need it.

It helps to get more of that information.

You know, fighting a bunch when we barely know each other is usually a sign that we are NOT a good fit. It's really easy to get along super well on a first meeting, especially if we're just doing something surfacey like gaming. It gets more challenging to get along with each other the more we talk, the deeper that talk gets, and the more we get to know one another. So, when we start not getting along as well once deeper communication, or more communication, starts to happen, it's worth considering that we aren't great for each other.

It also sounds like you might be trying to come back to this expecting this will turn into something amazing, and my guess is that's not in the cards here. If you already are not in a great headspace, it might not be such a good time to reach out after all, unless all you really want to do is say hi and perhaps try to reconnect as the same kinds of friends you were before. Know what I mean?
