Okay to like the ABC Daytime Drama's All My Children ,One Life To Live and General Hospital as a 19 year old guy?

If it doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, this is probably the place for it.

My name is Evan and i looove the ABC Daytime Dramas (Soap Operas) All My Children and One Life To Live! I love Erica Kane, Brooke English, Adam Chandler, Opal Cortlandt, Tad Martin, Dixie Cooney, Jackson Montgomery, Greenlee Symthe, Kendall Hart, Bianca Montgomery on AMC and on OLTL Viki Lord, Dorian Lord, Todd Manning, Blair Cramer, Bo and Nora Buchanan, Starr and Jack Manning, Rex Gigi and Shane Morasco and John Mcbain! and on GH Carly, Sonny, Jason, Luke, Laura, Tracy, Edward, Alan and Monica, and of course all the iconic couples like Luke and Laura, Todd and Blair, Viki and Clint, Greenlee and Ryan, Tad and Dixie, Opal and Palmer, Adam and Brooke, Erica and Jackson just to name a few but i feel wrong watching these shows because they are targeted towards middle aged stay at home women and i don't fit that status quo. What makes me feel worse is all the commercials for Pads Tampons and other feminine hygiene products that are on during the commercial breaks which makes me feel like i don't belong in the fandom the other problem is the fandom is mostly middle aged adult woman and i am a 19 year old boy. Should i continue to watch the shows that i get bullied for watching or find a more "Masculine" show or video game that i can have more in common with people my age?

Hi Eaulik2005, welcome to the boards!

You know, I think the kind of passion you have for these shows can only be something to admire. It is so cool that you have something you love so much. Why would it matter that these dramas are apparently targeted towards middle-aged women? That doesn't mean you're not allowed to enjoy them. While older women might be their biggest demographic, I imagine that the people who produce these shows would be pleased to hear that other people appreciate their work too. It's okay to have interests in common with people who are different from you, and you shouldn't have to stop doing something that makes you happy just because you are not a part of that group.

For what it is worth, you don't have to choose between watching these dramas and exploring media that more of your peers enjoy — you can do both. Nor do you have to focus on finding more 'masculine' interests if that doesn't appeal to you.

You've mentioned that you get bullied for watching these shows. That is serious, and it is not okay. If I may ask, where is this happening?
