squirt was yellow?

i was masturbating and i squirted several times. i’ve never squirted before but it didn’t feel like peeing, but i was bearing down so maybe it could have been like that? the liquid was yellow in color but smelled and tasted really sweet. it also didn’t come out in streams or anything, just like various gushes of fluid. i peed afterwards and could still pee a lot. any help? is it normal for the liquid to be yellow or did i just fully pee? i know some urine can be mixed in.

It sounds like you could be referring to ejaculation, or “squirting,” which is not the same as urinating. You may find that the fluid is really similar to urine, but based on what research has been done so far, we know that this fluid is not urine (though, it may be mixed with some elements of urine).

I want to share a quote from this advice column, Squirt: On Ejaculation,

Some people will posit that “female” ejaculation is just urinating. We know enough to know that’s not true. While it appears that this kind of ejaculation is a function of the paraurethral glands (like the Skene’s glands) which comes through the urethra⁠ – the same place we urinate – and the fluid is a lot like urine, enough research has been done which finds this fluid to be very different from urine, even though it’s possible some elements of urine are in the mix.

So, it sounds like you experienced ejaculation, and it’s possible that it was yellow because of some trace amounts of urine, or because of normal vaginal discharge. I hope this helps a bit!

ok, that helps a lot; i was seeing a lot of stuff online that it was never yellow and always like clear or milky and that’s how you would know it wasn’t pee. so it’s normal that it can be yellow? i think it might be bc i didn’t urinate beforehand also…
