IDK how to masturbate
Hey! So, I’ve been starting to masturbate for a little while. I’ve only done it a few times, but it’s felt good. I pretty much just try to rub my clit in a way that feels good, but I can’t tell if I’m doing it right. I mean, I know there’s not a right way to do it, but I always just wonder if there’s something I could be doing to make it work better. I haven’t orgasmed yet, which I know probably won’t happen for a little bit anyway, but I just don’t know. I feel like I would be able to figure it out if I had a partner who knew what they were doing, but I don’t have a partner at all so I’m just kind of always confused. If there’s anything you think could help me, I’ll take it.

Hi KaCy!
I’m glad you know there’s no right or wrong way to do it, you’re absolutely right. But, there are a few things you can make sure you’re doing so the whole experience feels good for you. First, making sure you’re in a safe and comfortable location, and making sure you’re aroused before you begin, those can both go a long way toward making sure you’re in a good space to feel good. Lube is also really important and helps make masturbation feel better.
I also want to send this article we have on our site that may be helpful for you as you continue to explore! https://www.scarleteen.com/read/sex-sex ... sturbation
I also wanted to say it’s totally okay that you’re exploring without a partner! Here we like to say that you should “be your own first,” so it’s totally good that you’re exploring things on your own first. This way you can get to know your own body, what feels good and what doesn’t, when you’re in a safe space by yourself.
How does that all sound to you?
