Sex Toys

Unread post by trunky »

Heyyyy peeps!

So, as this quite creative heading eludes to, I wanna buy some sex toys.

I read through that DIY sex toy article thingie, and apparently in some places, it's actually restricted where and at what age one can buy sex toys. Not so much here in Germany.\

Sooo, there's this local drug store, DM, which I'd probably buy stuff at, cuz I'd even get 10% off, as my parents work there. As that means, that the employees in the 20 or such stores around me at least know at least my dad, I'd buy stuff when I'm on like a day trip in another city, which I am like a few times a month. Mostly alone or with friends.

Now my real question:
What kind of stuff to buy and where to store it?

First off. I'd assume lube is something you'd always need. Also wanna keep my cards
open, should I have something spicy with another human going on.
Second off, well, Ig kinda condoms as well, if you were to do stuff with others only, righttt?
Also, there are like suuuuper many sex toys at that store, like not every store has all of them at their disposal, but there are around forty or fifty, I think.
Cuz I wouldn't really know what to get. The price ranges are also from like 5 to 60 Euros per toy. I've got a penis btw, but that shouldn't matter for most toys.

Buying should be relatively easy, cuz I could just pay in cash, and since I've got quite a lot of facial hair, I'm seldom ID checked for things 16+, if that's a measure to go by..., I don't think age would be a problem either.

The big thing is more like, where I should store stuff in my room.
If my parents found stuff, I don't think I would be of importance at all, but yk, privacy is nice and all that...
Like, I've got a quite the big room with like a front of drawers and such, there are also these storage thingies you push open at one edge, whose name I forgot thoo. The drawers are white on the outside, but almost completely full. The other thingies have mayybe got a bit more space to offer, but they're like a dark tainted black, where you in theory could look through. Doubt you'd notice anything in there, even if you specifically looked, but still..

I've also got a walk-in closet with like storage thingies on the side, but there my mom sometimes enters when she brings freshly washed clothes, if I don't get them, which most of the time, she does when I'm not even home thoo, as I'm often pursuing my hobbies, like being in the gym 6x a week, going swimming, going to the scouts and visiting different cities around my state by train, which means I'm usually at home in the evening, most days at like 4-6, once by 7:45 and once by 8:45.

Also, the thing is, as my dad works far away and has to commute there, when he's got like a doctor's appointment or something, he works from home (read: from the desk in my room)...

This will be more so a factor when he'll get a promotion by March, as then, he's gonna work even further away, which will mean, that while he's not home for four days, on Fridays, he'll work almost exclusively from home...

So yeah, thanks for reading Ig...

Hi there. Yes, definitely make sure to get some lube and condoms, these are the essentials for partnered or solo sex. Just make sure you're storing the condoms properly (the box will have instructions). As far as toys, it's all about preference, so can't give you suggestions as to what to buy but regarding storage...do you have a nightstand / bedside table? That's often a good private spot to keep toys. Alternatively, you could swap out something from one of your drawers to make space for this, and if it's see-through you could perhaps wrap them in a towel so from the outside it just looks like a towel. Does that help?

Well, it's not all-that see through, as it's still black, if in its box, I'm sure it wouldn't be visible.

Actually, I don't have a bedside table, never needed one, cuz I've got enough space for stuff, but thinking about it now, my parents actually keep their lube in a bedside table, which I noticed when wanting to grab a charger from their room once, lol.

Now, I know it's a preference issue, but like the price range is like very variable, so would a vibrator for €20 be similar to one for €60?
Ofc that's also something that's product-specific, but I'm really inexperienced here..

But yeah, thanks for the feedback!

Hi trunky! There are a lot of things influencing the price of a sex toy: material quality, complexity of the design and feature, where it was originally distributed (imported toys are probably going to be pricier than locally made ones), and more. A good quality sex toy (one that's made to be durable with medical-grade materials that is safe for our bodies) will likely cost more, but it doesn't mean your masturbation sessions with the toy will always be enjoyable. After all, how we react to stimulation from the same type of sex toy is different from one person to another, not to mention that there will be some learning we have to do until we can use the toy in the way that makes us feel pleasurable the most consistently. That said, it's important to make sure that the sex toy you're getting is made out of materials that are safe, regardless of price.

If you're interested in getting a certain type of sex toy from a particular brand, I think it'd be helpful to read reviews from users who have bought and used them. We also have a series of guides on the most common types of sex toys: How to Play with Toys

Does this help?
