Help advice needed

Unread post by Rubyc19 »

Hi wondering if anyone can help! I take combined pill and last night at 10pm took my 21st pill. Today is the first day of my pill free break. ( I have a 4 day break instead of 7) but I had an episode of Diahrea at 1pm so 12+ hours after taking last nights pill. I’m worried about mt contraceptive protection during the break and don’t want to ovulate, I would put 2 packs back to back but I like the reassurance of the bleed. If anyone can offer advice please x

Hey there. I don't think you need to worry about this, given the timing of things. If it did create a risk issue, it would be during the pill-free week and the first day of the next pack, so if you want some extra backup, I'd just be sure to have any partner use a condom for intercourse until around the second day of your next pack.

I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you for your reply! Do you think it would be safer to just carry on to the next pill packet instead of taking a break ? X

You could do that, but I really don’t think you need to, especially if you back up with condoms. It also sounds like you’d just feel better with your withdrawal bleed.
