You should never put something like a brush in the anus. You'll want to stick to toys designed for anal play, not try and improvise: it's both very easy to get cuts or scratches or tears AND easy for things without a flared base design to get lost inside.

You're also not likely to be able to have the kind of leverage or reach needed with your own hands for prostate stimulation: you'd need a partner for that.

I'm not sure I completely understand what you're asking here, but if what you're looking to understand is why you're not feeling anything amazing from what you've tried so far, it is probably a matter of both high expectations and simply not having the right tools to really explore prostate stimulation on your own.
