Question about decidual bleeding
Hello all over again Scarleteen
So, I have this question:
How different is decidual bleeding of menstrual period?
I mean, difference in characteristics, like how many days last?, Can last the same numbers of days that in a menstrual period and the same flow?, why some women don't realize they are pregnant with decidual bleeding?
PD: While reading some of the post I notice that you say that decidual bleeding just last a couple months, so why other pages says that can last the whole 9 months?
Thanks again Scarleteen.

Re: Question about decidual bleeding
Hi hedjoss,
If you haven't seen it yet, this article covers most of your questions about decidual bleeding: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/advic ... erstanding
There's also the fact that bleeding during pregnancy happens in a minority of people who are pregnant, which means getting your period is still a pretty reliable way to know you're not pregnant.

Re: Question about decidual bleeding
Oh, thanks.
So decidual bleeding is only spotting, not a heavy flow like in period?, It can last the same number of days that in period (like 4-6 days)?

Re: Question about decidual bleeding
To a person who menstruates, it can sometimes seem like a period. Really though, it's not that common, and if someone is worried that they're having decidual bleeding instead of their period, it's easiest and wisest to just take a pregnancy test.

Re: Question about decidual bleeding
My last question
It can last the same as a period, like 4, 5 or 6 days?
Thanks.

Re: Question about decidual bleeding
Yes, it can. But again, it is unusual, especially after the first month or so.
And of course, anyone realistically concerned about decide all bleeding is concerned about an actual or possible pregnancy, so if one is unsure if there is a pregnancy, the thing to do is to take a test or see a healthcare provider, rather than fruitlessly try to figure out what kind of bleeding is going on.
