Unread post by tonytonymoni »

I have a big-ish family i have 4 siblings and both of my parents with our house i have to share a room with my sister and lately i have been getting really horny but iu havent been able to do much because i share a room with her and my siblings like to barge in at anytime and my room is next to my dad office which he works in a lot and we have rules of no closing doors because when i was a bit younge i accidenlty was exposed to explicit stuff and started liking then my parents found out and started making new rules such as no closed doors and im not allowed to have laptop in my room sometimes and they said its ok for me to masturbate but just not to the stuff i was watching which i do admit was not the best but at that time(when i was like 12-13) i wasnt masturbating so when they asked me i said no but now i am 14 and i am mastubating now how should i talk to them about this i get really uncomfortable and embarrassed with thiongs like this even though i know they are very accepting with these things? and sorry fo this bad explanation it kinda of turned into a ramble

Hi there,

No need to apologize, we're here to listen. I'm not sure I'd suggest talking to your parents about this, as it's also important to have some privacy for yourself, and even though you said they are accepting with these things, the fact that they don't let you close the door because they don't want you watching sexual media makes me think they might not be okay with it. That said, you know them better than I do, of course. If you think they would be okay with you bringing up that you want some privacy, you don't have to be explicit about why or give any details. You can simply say you're getting older and feel like having more privacy would be beneficial. Parents should understand teenagers (and really, every human) need privacy and having a rule where you can't close any doors isn't conducive to a healthy relationship with them.

All that said, do you think you could just ask if you can close your door sometimes, without having to explain why? Last time we talked to you about this we suggested maybe trying to use the basement bathroom as a place to masturbate for privacy, is that still an option?
