Hi! So I'm almost 16, and a female assigned at birth (and identify as a woman). I've been masturbating for a few years but I've only been able to pleasure myself by touching my clit for about a year now. It's not that I can't finger myself or anything, I just don't have the privacy. I share a room with my sibling, and even though we have a barrier between us for privacy, I can't like do anything. I'll have my own room in a few months when they go to college, but even then my parents could come in at any time or my other siblings.

So aside from that, I'm wondering if there are ways I can pleasure myself that aren't the boring clit stimulation? I don't have access to condoms and I can't really ask, so I can't make the DIY toys you've mentioned. I would ask my parents but they would assume I'm having sex or they would say I'm too young, even if I told them about sex toys. My mom is already weirdly strict about what shows and movies I watch. Anyways, if there are any ways that I could either finger myself without the mess on my fingers or alternative DIY sex toys without condoms, that'd be helpful! I do have access to gloves, which I tried one time in the past at night to finger myself without the mess. But, when I was about to do it again tonight, I looked it up and apparently it isn't the best to use inside you. So, I can technically get privacy at night if I need it for internal stimulation. But I'm bored of just clit stimulation and I don't want to get my fingers all gross (hence why the gloves were appealing a while ago).

You know, it's not usually what we're doing physically that makes sexual activity exciting or boring, but more what's in our heads. In other words, adding vaginal stimulation or toys to what you're already doing with the external portions of your clitoris will probably be exciting for a bit because it's new and because you're curious about it. But generally, changing things up physically if you feel sexually bored won't do much. It also sounds to me like lacking privacy is an even bigger issue here, as might be the general vibe in your home when it comes to sexuality.

Can I ask if when you're masturbating, you generally feel sexually turned on before and during, and you feel like you can really lose yourself in whatever you're doing? I ask because if one or both of those things aren't the case, they may be bigger factors here than a lack of vaginal exploration (especially given that the vagina isn't rich with nerve endings the way the clitoris is, so if you aren't already pretty darn turned on when you're engaging the vagina -- which then helps plump up the internal portions of the clitoris around it that creates much of the sensation of the vagina -- it will tend to feel a lot less stimulating than it will with the external clitoris).

Per the privacy: can you simply ask for more privacy in your home, and some basic boundaries, like, once your room is your own, anyone wanting to come in knocking first?

I'm not sure what you mean about gloves not being good to use on your hands if you are putting fingers inside the vagina. Latex (or a non-latex version also made for medical or sexual use) gloves are absolutely safe for this purpose. Not sure where you read otherwise, but either that place was wrong or there's some context with what you read that's missing here.
