A Question about online derogatory slang and 4chan

My question basically is: why does it look like trans women (almost always white), particularly online, use derogatory slang originating from 4chan?

Words like “troon” or “poon” or “theyfab”. Unfortunately, I looked up the meanings, and they’re all awful. It seems to me like they’re used like slurs, but I won’t argue semantics.

I just really don’t understand why, within the trans community, it’s white trans women using these terms?
I guess I don’t understand much about 4chan as a site in the first place, other than it’s an absolute hell filled with incels and men who I cannot describe with any word other than loser.
So, why would trans women use 4chan? It seems like an absolutely terrible place to be.

And, if they’ve used 4chan in the past, why continue to use its slang?

I don’t want to generalize. Obviously most trans women won’t use these terms or attack other people in the community. But I have noticed a pattern, and I want to know why.

Why 4chan and not Tumblr slang? Though tumblr is also awful and has the capacity to be very transphobic as well.

Hey there.

This is something you'll need to ask the people you see doing this specifically.

This just isn't something we -- as people not doing this or seeing this -- could possibly answer, nor could anyone answer anything directed at any one group as a whole like this, especially since it likely isn't something that's even relevant to most white trans women.
