Question about Period and Fertility

Unread post by dixiepixels »

Hi scarleteen :)

I did a research and I also read a post here on scarleteen saying that the first week (days 1 - 7) are relatively infertile times for the girl and the days after that are unsafe.

So does this mean that it is kinda ok to have sex or do a sexual act and only have a very little chance for a pregnancy to happen during the first few days of the period?

*and when do women on average start ovulating and does it affect and adjust the days if someone is using the standard days method?

Thanks and i hope to obtain valuable info

The thing is that, unless you are charting for many months your cycles taking your basal temperature along with your cervical mucus, is not possible to know when you are actually ovulating or not. Is true that for some people the first days would be the most fertile but is not a rule. This is something that would be different for everyone.
