Plan b side effect or actual period?

Unread post by Helpme1234 »

My girlfriend and I had a pregnancy scare so about 24 hours after the fact she took plan B. About five to six days after that she got what she thinks was her period but her period wasn't due for another twelve days. It lasted five days she said it was much worse than usual(not really sure what she meant by that). Anyway my question is was the bleeding actually her period or just a side effect from plan B?

Hi Helpme,

So, one of the side effects of plan B is that it can throw a person's cycle off, causing periods to arrive at odd times, and it can cause irregular or unexplained bleeding. There is no way for us to know what this bleeding was for her. Generally, we advise that someone who had a pregnancy risk and took EC still take a pregnancy test two weeks or so after using it
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
