Amenorrhea Question

Hello Scarleteen!
My question relates to something that my gynecologist told me I have. I am on lo loestrin fe birth control and have been for around a year now. Since December I have not had a period. With this particular pill, periods are supposed to become lighter and or non existent, so I was not really concerned. My gynecologist told me I probably have secondary amenorrhea due to the birth control.
Otherwise, I have no issues. However around this time, I started a pretty intense workout regime and started doing Insanity. I had been working out everyday prior to that but have since stopped with that particular program and I now do cardio kick boxing with either 90x3, shorter insanity videos or something else everyday for around an hour minimum.
I'm aware you guys are not health care professionals but could my workout regime perhaps have something to do with my absence of a period? Also, it you could give me more details or links to resources about amenorrhea, that would be great too! I honestly don't know a lot about it or what that means for your body.
