21 Day Birth Control Pills

Ok, I just completed my first month of 21 day birth control pills (Junel). I will take a pill everyday for three weeks and then on the fourth week I will not take anything. then the following week the process will repeat. my question is: is it safe to have sex (without condom protection) during those 7 "off days"? I take my medicine at the same time everyday, but have not been able to find a straightforward answer regarding sex on the 7 day break. maybe you can help me out?? thank you!!

When taken as directed, the pill protects you every day, including during the placebo week.
