What CAN my GYN tell?

I'm 15 and I started seeing my gyno about a year ago. I always get the question "are you sexually active?" and it's always been "no" up until recently. I'm still a virgin but have participated in oral and manual sex. I know this is considered to be sexually active, but I haven't told my mom yet. If I tell my gyno that I'm sexually active, can she tell my mom? I would rather my mom find out from me, not my gyno. Is she required to tell? Is she required not to tell??

Hi candyhndy,
No, what happens in conversation between you and your gyno should not get back to your mom, as it is confidential between you two.
Do you feel you want to discuss what's going on with your mom, or just with your doctor for now?

just with the doctor for now, i plan to talk with my mom soon but right now i have questions for my gyno about certain things, and don't want to tell my mom.
