Overweight and birth control effectiveness?

Unread post by jirish1995 »

Hi guys!

I just had a quick question about combined pill effectiveness. I read somewhere that being overweight decreases birth control effectiveness, and I wanted to know if this is true/a significant reduction in effectiveness.

Thanks!

Hi Jirish,

There are some physical and wellness factors that may mean the pill is not the best choice for someone, but weight by itself is not one of them. Plus, when your healthcare provider is helping you decide on birth control, they are factoring in things like weight and your health history when they make a recommendation. So, if you were recommended these pills, then you can assume that they will work for you.
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
