Pill question
Is my pill still effective if I took it an hour late 3 days in a row? I normally take it around 9pm and took it around 10:00-10:15 pm those 3 days, thanks!

Re: Pill question
Yep, your pill will still be effective. One hour doesn't make a difference.

Re: Pill question
Thank you! Does it matter if it was the first week of my pack or not?

Re: Pill question
Alright, thank you! And one last question, would taking it that way put me under perfect use without any of the other things that make the pill ineffective such vomiting right after, missing a pill, antibiotics etc.? Sorry to be a bother!!

Re: Pill question
The thing to remember with perfect use is that it really doesn't exist beyond laboratory conditions. The reason for that is because it's figured over a year of using a method, and odds are that in a given year you'll have a misstep or two with the pill. But, unless you've done something recently that would compromise the effectiveness of the pill, you can assume you have a really high degree of protection from it

Re: Pill question
I have yet another question about the pill, can you ovulate while on the pill even if you take it the same time everyday and don't have a misstep? Thanks again!!

Re: Pill question
This depends on the type of pill you're taking. If you're on a combined oral contraceptive (most commonly prescribed when folks are taking a birth control pill) then one of the ways it works is to prevent ovulation; if you are on the minipill/progestin-only pill, it may help to prevent it but it's not necessarily going to happen. If you aren't sure what kind of pill yours is, you can look at the insert packet that came with your pill pack to see.
It is still possible, although unlikely, for some people to ovulate occasionally on the combined pill even when taking it properly, but it's still working in other ways to prevent pregnancy if this happens. So we can't say "you'll never ovulate!" but if you're taking the pill according to directions then the risk of pregnancy is very low. You can look at using a second method, like condoms, along with the pill if you'd feel more secure that way.

Re: Pill question
I'd also bear in mind that with pretty much anything -- a pill, a book, a movie -- you're often more likely to find critical reviews of things than supportive ones. I think it's safe to say that usually, when people are happy with something, they're too busy being satisfied to make a review. Also, in avenues built for complaining, that is what people tend to do.
