Late birth control

Unread post by Worrywart123 »

Hi, I have been on sprintec birth control for almost a year, I am going to start the third week of my pack and I am not going to be able to take my pill at my normal time tomorrow.. As long as I take it within 12 hours after 6:15, I should still be protected?
Thank you!

You probably will be okay, as that is not a huge time frame. If you're worried use condoms and have EC on hand (generic is exactly the same as name brand just cheaper, but I recommend to have it anyways as it's better to be prepared) in the meantime. I do suggest, though, talking with the doctor who prescribed this to you next time you see them, as they likely know more than I would. Also read the instructions that came with your prescription. If you don't have it google it you should be able to find it. Read the ENTIRE thing and this should help in addition to seeing doctor. Hope I helped:)

Okay, so if I take it at maybe 11-12 would I be in the safe time frame? Or by me taking it late totally decrease the effectiveness? I'm normally really good about taking it on the exact time as normal...

Yes, worrywart. If you take your pill in the 12 hours window the effectiveness is the same. :)
