Can sperm move upward without help?
Can sperm move upward without help?
Sorry for asking 2 questions in such little time, but I just had a random thought (not anxious, just out of curiosity) and wanted to know if it was accurate/valid.
Okay, so if a man ejaculates, but only on say, his own stomach/thigh/etc., then a girl straddles the guy, or some other similar situation in which the girl is sitting directly on top of said puddle of semen, could sperm travel upward into the vagina without being "thrust" up by an ejaculation? I mean, if the guy does not ejaculate directly onto/into the girl, could the sperm move upwards into the vagina with no help from a penis, finger, toy, etc.

The chance would be very, very low. The reason: gravity.
The thing about questions like this is that you can always find a million of "what if" scenarios, you know? It can become endless. What we want/need to keep in mind is that pregnancy is not something that happens just out of the blue like magic. It needs certain conditions. If you want to learn more about how pregnancy DOES happen, you can do it here: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/bodie ... production
If you want to avoid the worry of getting pregnant, the best thing would be to just use a condom for every contact and avoid sperm close to your bare genitals.
