My boyfriend ate me out and didn't know he was getting a cold sore
Hi,
Earlier today my boyfriend ate me out for a few minutes. We then fell asleep for a couple hours and when we woke up he realized he could feel a cold sore beginning to develop. I already have oral herpes too so we don't worry about that, but im worried about getting genital herpes now. As soon as we realized I took a shower and cleaned really well down there and did not put the thong I had on back on. Is there anything else I can do to prevent the incubation of the virus? Do you think I will likely develop genital herpes?

Hi coolio,
Herpes is most contagious when there is an active sore, although there is still some risk when a sore is not present. So the risk you had from this incident was likely lower than it would have been had his cold sore been fully formed.
At this point, the best thing you can do is talk with your boyfriend about ways to prevent transmission in the future, such as using barriers for all types of sex (including oral sex). Those will help reduce the risk of the virus being transferred.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

In the event you two don't know about barriers for cunnilingus or how to use them, you can find that information here: All the Barriers! All the Time!
