What do I do???

Before I start I'd just like to say that I have no idea what my sexual orientation is. I'm thinking I'm more gay then straight but I really don't know. Anyways, I have a friend who is bisexual and I think I might have feelings for her. Recently she sent me a video of her singing this song. The words were "put your sweet lips on my lips, we should just kiss like real people do" and she said the video was for me. It was really pretty but I don't know what it meant. Did it mean she wants to kiss me? I kind of want to kiss her but I'm worried about making things weird between us. I'm just confused. Thanks!!

Hi ballerina99,
This is one of those instances where to find out what you need to find out, you'll have to talk to your friend. It's completely normal to fear that expressing your feelings might make things awkward. And that is a real possibility. On the other hand, being honest with your friend about how you feel will give her the chance to be honest with you about hers. Even if that's a little scary, it ends up being way better than spending weeks or months trying to puzzle out how she feels about you.

But what do I say?? I'd feel weird just out of the blue asking "hey what did that video you sent me mean?" Because of it was just a video of her singing then I don't want to make it into something that it's not and offend her. If that makes any sense. How could I ask what the video meant without making it sound like I'm assuming things about her??

Hi ballerina99,
I don't think there is any specific thing we can tell you to say because the conversation you two have will be so dependent of the relationship you have and whatever you both feel comfortable talking about. A good way to start, though, if you don't feel comfortable asking her directly, is using "I" statements and talking about your feelings. If you are honest and communicate about yourself and your feelings then you don't have to worry about making any assumptions about her.
